FYI, there are rumors that Tivo is coming out with the competitor to Tablo called Maverick. This is probably prompting the price drops on Tablos.

If they match the flexibility of Tablo at the same pricepoint it will be an uphill battle for Tablo to retain the market share.

Not true, you can use it without a subscription. Maybe not recommended, but certainly possible. See the differences here: https://www.tablotv.com/blog/can-...scription/

Do you have a source for this because googling "tivo maverick" doesn't come up with anything relevant.

I bought a refurbished 4 tuner 4 months ago from Tablo for $240 + $13.50 shipping. So these are pretty good prices. It's not nearly as slick as a Tivo and it does have its technical hiccups (usually fixed by restarting the app, but also may have to power cycle the unit). It's also slow changing channels and you can't see the guide while watching a channel. I still recommend it for cord cutters though.

Sorry, misspelled it. It's Tivo Mavrik... no details yet from Tivo.

I've had my Tablo for a year now. most of the bugs seem to be worked out. It works smoothly across all the devices on my network (roku, fire tv, Nexus player). Big fan of it

Thanks for the info on this, had no knowledge about it. However, it does seem like it is going to be per month subscription, mainly because the article points at storage in cloud. Tivo wont be giving that away for free.

Jet.com has 15% off the Tablo 2 tuner making it $153.84 with free shipping and no tax in some states. The 15% off applies to your first 3 orders on jet.com. No mention of it being a refurbished model. it can cost a little less if you are willing to pay with a debit card and/or give up free returns. use code triple15 at checkout to get 15% off your first 3 orders.
