Costco B&M USDA Prime NY Strip Steak, $8-$10/lb YMMV

Sorry if this has been posted but I was not able to find it in my search. I was in my local Costco (Omaha, NE) and they had the bulk packages of USDA Prime NY Strip steaks on sale for $10.99/lb. They also had a sign for $25 off per package.

Saw a package or two around $125 for about 12 lbs; after the discount, comes to about $8-$8.50/lb for this great steak. Sorry, I don't have any pictures because I assumed there'd already be a post on this. I believe the sale ends in a week or two. If I go back, I'll post a pic.

Got in on this deal last year around this same time and they were awesome. I cut the rack into multiple steaks for immediate cooking and some for vacuum sealing for later. The ones I vacuum sealed still tasted amazing after a few months in the freezer.

No, the packages that I saw were all about 11-13 lbs. So price before the $25 discount ranged from $125-$150.

Found a $117/10.29lb package in Van Nuys...-25 = around 8/lb....took them home, cut into steaks...great as usual. Trimed 1-2 pounds of fat/gristle off...

Two huge advantages of buying entire strip:

1. Can cut into any thickness you want.
2. Not blade tenderized. While costco is very good about keeping the machines clean, the tenderizer has been shown to introduce bacteria/ecoli into steaks that aren't killed unless you cook them all the way through...so if you like them rare/medium-rare, there is a small risk you can get something nasty.

That was posted almost 2 weeks ago and ended 11/03. I did't see it because it was in the Deal Talk forum, which means it was expired. I can't recall exactly when this ends, but it was at least one week from yesterday.

Either way, thanks for posting that link as it contains some useful information.

I did edit it to say that it was expired. Not sure if it was the same promotion that they ran a week before and then ran again this week.
