I would like to open this thread with a little bit of a backstory of myself. I've worked in a pharmacy as a tech for almost 6 years now and am planning on getting my PharmD to become a licensed Pharmacist. Anything within this thread or said henceforth is not medical advice and should not be interpreted as such. I am not a medical professional and never stop taking a medication without the consent of your Doctor. If you feel like you're dealing with an emergency, please pick up the phone and call 911 immediately.
OK, now that that is out of the way, I would like to help you to save money on your prescription medications.
There are two different subjects within this idea, one is commercial insurance and the other is "self-pay" or cash paying patients.
Please note ** most of these discount coupons and offers are NOT available to patients that are receiving state funded programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Part-D, Tricare, etc. Contact your own insurance company; to ensure you are eligible to receive these benefits or check the fine print of the discount card you are looking into.
The majority of these can be used with your private insurance (that doesn't fall under the above listed) even if you have a high deductible plan or high copay. They may not reduce the price to zero or the "advertised" price due to the limitations of the coupon or discount offers.
Almost all of these cards can be used multiple times (if there is an expiration date on the card you can just print a new one with a longer expiration date) with the exception of the Viagra, Cialis, and Stendra coupons – those are once per lifetime use.
