Deal expire today (11/17). Direct link:
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Ama...01LY8OUQW/

Key features:
- Amazon Exclusive Model - Includes power adapter and sustain pedal
- 88 fully weighted piano-style keys
- 10 different voices, including digitally sampled tones from real Yamaha acoustic grand pianos
- Dual Mode lets you combine two Voices together, like piano and strings, for an inspiring new playing experience
- Slim and stylish design with a depth of less than 12 inches, the P71 requires little space and weighs only 25 lbs

Have been looking for Yamaha p45 ($450), p115 ($600) or Casio PX160($500) deals, which tend to be $100 less according to SD past threads, but glad to found this instead. For those not familiar with P-71, per Yamaha,
"The P-71 is identical to the P-45 . There are no functional differences."

Default is 3-yr warranty (http://usa.yamaha.com/support/war...s_2015.pdf), but using Discover card (5% CB@Amazon this quarter) or other credit card will extend it to the 4th year (https://www.discover.com/credit-c...ranty.html). So no separate protection warranty needed.

FYI, I also bought the following separately:
1. Yamaha PKBX2 Double-Braced Adjustable X-Style Keyboard Stand, $30
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
2. Yamaha PKBB1 Adjustable Padded Keyboard Bench, $21
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I362NXU
3. BALFER Stretchable Velvet Piano Keyboard Dust Cover for 88 Keys-Keyboard (Black), $16
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HXNZJRK/
(Yamaha doesn't offer a full Dust cover product so had to go to a third-party. Feel free to pick other brands)
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Yes, Yamaha rep did state it is the same model but for some reason they do not even list it on its own website. Personally, I would be hesitant.

Also, note that P115 can be purchased for $500 (search for past deals for this exact model on SD)

Finally, good comparison between P-45 and P-115 can be found here:

I was in the same situation few months ago and decided to spend extra and get P115. Very happy with my decision.

Thanks for the second confirmation. I was looking for P45 and P115 deals. However, until now, they haven't shown up. Tired of waiting.

I saw a Costco deal ($100 instant rebate) for the casio cdp230. I'm trying to get back into playing again, but don't really know if there's a huge difference between this and what the op posted.

can someone advise if the op post is for professionals or if I should stick with the Costco deal?

Yes, that's the deal I was about to jump (http://www.costco.com/Casio-CDP-2...12514.html), but picked this one eventually. I am a rookie myself. So I let these two reviews speak for themselves.

Yes, and $28 tax. I can deal with $28 if it was free pick up in store, but not $78 and forced shipping. So it's really $22 off. Gee, thanks Costco.

Any piano experts know whether or not this is worth it for a first timer? I plan to keep a piano that is good for learning and good for keeping in the future in just in case. I really don't want to upgrade every year or two if I can avoid it.

Pianos haven't really changed in 100 years, other than the addition of midi which even my old 88 key from 2000. You should be good to go, especially for first time.

Cool, thanks! Also, what do you think of this piano if you have any opinions on it overall? Like any concerns if you were to buy it?

The Costco deal is available in store, in case you want to avoid S&H.

Also, Costco charges tax on the original price ($449.99)
