REBATE TIPS AND REQUIREMENTS
November to December Rebate Link
http://www.adorama.com/pdfs/rebat...kbid=62905

Many don't get receipts or proper receipts sent with their order. There web site does not generate a good receipt and does not even show their name. Call to make sure you get a proper receipt that will meet the rebate terms. They can email it immediately. Don't use email for customer service, call. Email support is not up to par and you may not get a response.

The receipt with your order, on their website or email may not be good for the rebate. The receipt requires:
  • Order Date
  • Items must be listed separately
  • Retailers name on receipt

Adorama ships the printer and camera and other stuff separately. They do not always include all the receipts. In general you will get one for each shipment but sometimes not. If you don't see one for the printer open the box, they had slipped one inside on one of my previous orders. Another order I just did not get one.

It is fine to use two receipts as long as they are both for the same order bought on the same day. Adorama can generate a very basic combined receipt, that lists all the items separately. Some of the reps don't seem to be able to do it and will just get you the two separate receipts for each shipment.

I have submitted the rebates both with the two receipts and with the combined recept and have been always approved.

Other Requirements & Tips
You need to have the products in hand to submit the rebate as you need the serial number form the printer.

You need two UPCs to claim the rebate. DO NOT peel the top layer with the UPCs, cut them out leaving a hole in the box with all layers of cardboard intact.

UPC from the Printer box
Found on the outside of the printer above the serial number
UPC from camera box(Not the Premium Kit Box)
Use the UPC from the camera box which is inside the Kit box, do not use the kit box UPC. Do not use the secondary UPCs that are inside top flaps of the box. Use the one on the outside below the picture of the camera.

Paper UPC is not needed for the rebate

You have two ways you can file the rebate.
  1. Download the linked forms above. Follow the directions, fill it out and attach the other required documents and mail it in.
  2. You have the option to Pre-submit the rebate online and print it for mailing with your required documentation. Go to http://rebates.usa.canon.com and click on the "Pre-submit your Rebate Claim" button to pre-submit your claim.
.
If you use presubmit option you do not need to use or mail in the form linked in the OP. Follow the direction on their web page and a form will be generated at the end. You will submit that form with your other stuff. You still have to mail in the form that is created and your supporting docs to get the rebate.

If presubmitting the Offer Number is found in the address that you would mail the linked paper rebate to.
  • For November 1st to Dec 31st it is OFFER# 8191416
The Primary Product is the Printer. The Pro-100

The serial number is right below the UPC on the outside of the box, no need to open the box.

The receipt must show the retailers name, order date and have the products listed separately.

Do not peel the top layer with the UPCs off of the cardboard. They want a hole cut in the box and all layers of cardboard intact on the UPC.

CAREFUL WITH THIS
Depending on what bundle you buy the paper is different. Make sure you pick the correct promotion for the paper with your order. The paper will be either LU-101 or SG-201. Make sure to pick the right offer from the list if presubmitting or from the check box on the forms.

If presubmitting after filling in the offer #, primary product and serial number carefully scroll down to you find the correct offer.

DEPENDING ON WHAT PAPER CAME WITH YOUR BUNDLE EITHER
Quote :
Product(s):Canon PRO-100 and LU-101 and EOS Rebel T5i
Amount: $350.00 American Express Reward Card
Quote :
Product(s):Canon PRO-100 and SG-201 and EOS Rebel T5i
Amount: $350.00 American Express Reward Card
and then click continue.

KEEP COPIES OF EVERTHING JUST TO BE SAFE, IT"S A BIG REBATE.

Caution!
If you plan on selling any of the bundle see this information. Thanks to trrbo!

:
If you plan to resell any item with a cutout upc code, beware. My rebate got "lost" in the mail, and when I contacted them to ask if I could I send scan copies I made of the forms + upc cutouts they said I couldn't, and instead wanted a picture of serial number of the camera and inside the printer. Luckily I still had the camera (which I kept), but I already sold the printer. I had to contact the buyer across state and plead he take a picture of the printer inside so I could get my rebate http://i.slickdeals.net/images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif
Basically you may need pictures of the serial numbers from the camera and printer in the event your UPC get lost at some point in the process. Copies of the UPC are apparantly not sufficient. You may want to take pictures if you plan on selling the items before getting the rebate.

Mailing the Rebate
BTW IF you have a Paypal account you can use the Paypal Ship Now link to send the rebate by first class with tracking for $2.60. Certified at the PO costs a good bit more and requires a signature at Canons end. With the Paypal Ship Now you get delivery confirmation but it does not require a signature. You can not get this service at the PO only through Paypal. I have heard that requiring a signature can sometimes cause problems with rebates.

There was a member in the other thread that did use Certified and received his rebate but the Paypal postage is a good bit cheaper and shows proof of delivery just in case they would lose the rebate or something.

I have done the rebates with and without having tracking and have never had a lost one as of yet. It's your choice but many like the peace of mind and proof of delivery and the Payapl link will be your cheapest option.

Paypal Ship Now Link

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin...=_ship-now

The formatting and allowable length of the fill in boxes can cause problems with Payapl Ship Now.

If I remember right. Try this using the actual info and promotion IDs from your form

Customers Full Name: Canon PRO100 Mailin Rebate Promotion
Address Street & Number: Promotion ID *********
More Address information(optional) PO Box ******

That should get it to work for you. It's fine putting the PO box on the more address info line.
If that still doesn't work and the first line is still to long take of the "Promotion" on the end.

Other stuff:
Lots of people will buy the "nifty fifty" as their first prime lens, because it takes fantastic photos. It's cheap, and totally worth it.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens - $110 [amazon.com] (Pick "17th Street Photo" as the seller to avoid tax, use Discover for 5% off)
Lens Hood for 50mm Lens - $8.59 [amazon.com] (not genuine Canon, but DOES have flocking on the inside just like the genuine one)

Lens Hood for 18-55mm Lens (EW-63C) - $22.88 [amazon.com]
Lens Hood for 18-135mm Lens (EW-73B) - $24.49 (free standard shipping) [bhphotovideo.com]
Generic Lens Hood for 18-135mm Lens - $2.37 [ebay.com] (no flocking on inside of lens) Ordered this lens hood, received it in 13 days from China, fits perfectly, no flocking on inside but is not glossy/shiny; have not used it yet, so cannot comment on its effectiveness.

Most people who are unfamiliar with DSLRs will be super disappointed by the built-in flash. It's awful. Generally speaking, you should avoid using it.
However, you might consider spending $30 on the Lightscoop Deluxe. It's a flash bounce device that bounces the flash off of the ceiling or walls and makes your built-in flash actually usable. Pictures are nice and soft.
Do some research, read some reviews, and give it a go. Note that the company has gone out of business now, but a few are still left on the market.
This guy on eBay [ebay.com] ships quickly from California. I got mine (on East Coast) in 4 days.

Eye-Fi Mobi Wifi 32GB SDHC Memory Card for Mobile Devices - $50 [adorama.com]
Lexar 32GB Professional Class 10 UHS-I U1 633x SDHC Memory Card LSD32GCB1NL633 - $11.75 [adorama.com]
Thanks iconian again nod

They said it's 429 after rebate so it's way more right ? Then you do the rebate and get the $350 back right ?

Anyone else have a stack of empty printers in their home? I've got them on Craigslist for 25.00 each. No one even wants the printer paper at 10.00 each. I have 3 of those also.

Guess I need to bundle up the printer with photo paper and tell people if they tote away the printer for free, I'll give them free printer paper.

the 18-135mm bundle is REALLy slick considering that the lowest was 600 in the past. But I was waiting for T6i bundle. Very tempted to ignore the benefits of T6i and pull the trigger for this but not sure yet!

the lens is the main difference. 18-55 vs 18-135
