Wasn't the Costco deal a week or two ago with a 950m and $400? Not a deal here based on that.

I ordered this on the 24th for $499 plus tax. I liked that it had a backlit keyboard and despite the average screen, I could add a 2.5 hdd that I already have so I could expand storage. I wasn't happy to find there was a lightning deal on Friday that I missed where this was $449 and they only sold 95% of them before it expired. I tried to get Amazon to price match their deal. They wouldn't, so I cancelled and moved on to the Lenovo deal at the time. If they couldn't sell out at $449, is it really that good deal at $499?

This one is pretty much the same, but cheaper with newer processor, spend the difference in price to get an SSD (and save a little on tax too) for the same thing with a 1TB hard drive left over for storage.

Which one? When I click your link, it goes to the Intel Core i5 7200U for $529
They do have the i5 6200U for $400 right now. Is that a good deal?

I'm guessing these don't have a backlit keyboard like the one in the OP does.

The one for $400 is a good deal, missing the SSD. The i5 7200 one was $429 last night on sale, but just ended. All these Acer Aspire models are pretty much the same just mix/match a couple parts (usually SSD/HDD, everything else is the same).

90 bucks more for 6th to 7th gen cpu and 1tb hdd.
I went with Amazon. Reasons being, Minor difference in cpu is not much important to me. I can get a deal on 1tb hdd for under $50 and install it myself. Discover 5% Cashback.
