$25 Visa Checkout also works on Logitech Logi Circle camera, dropping price to $105. This is a good alternative to Nest Camera.

According to WireCutter: The Nest Cam is a worthy camera, but with caveats. It offers some of the best audio and video performance, works with more smart-home devices than any other camera we reviewed, and includes an easy-to-use app and decent geofencing. However, after the first 10 days, there is no free video storage. It's basically useful only for live viewing, unless you pay for a monthly or annual subscription. Also, some of the camera's most useful features—like motion-detection algorithms and the ability to create clips and time lapses—can only be used if you're a paying subscriber. These features come standard with competing products.

I don't have this Nest but I know the biggest difference is how they monitor and what it costs to monitor. The Nest cam will record everything at all times and send it to the cloud. This could be good and bad depending on your view. Personally I think it's a waste of bandwidth and not worth bogging down my Internet, but I understand others like the benefit of looking back at a certain point in time. However Nest only keeps the past 3 hours for free and if you want more than that, and you will, you'll pay a monthly fee.

Arlo only records when it detects motion and then records that to the cloud. You can go the app and live view through the cameras but you can't just go back and view a certain period of time if no motion was detected. But, Arlo comes with 7 days of recording for free. So the last 7 days worth of motion detection recordings will always be visible to you and this is free for up to 5 cameras. Unless you have more than 5 cameras, you will have no monthly fee.

So Nest is always recording, sends you alerts, but you'll have to pay a monthly fee. Arlo only records motions, sends you alerts, but no monthly fee.

Of course there's "a chance". It's technically feasible, but extremely unlikely it would happen to you, unless you are on a terrorist watch list or something. There's also a chance that a meteor will fall on your house.

The $30 off camera code make it even cheaper if you still have it.

Do you have cameras setup in your bedroom or living room and on when you're home?

If someone wants to spy on my front yard and back door, more power to them..

We like ours a lot. We just use it as a baby monitor though. You can still go back and see stills after the fact for 24 hours I think. And you still get alerted when it detects motion or sound. I wish they had a free storage option though for sure. This deal is nuts though.
