just a heads up, these are at costco in-store right now for $15.99. they are the newer model with "50% brighter screen", a replaceable battery, free case and costco's lifetime return policy. that should help if you get a lemon. hope this helps! see link for reference only, same price but you have to pay $2.99 for shipping... Excellent deal, I just paid $15.99 for these two days ago and that was a decent deal. From what I gather these might be the older model, but the newer model has bad reviews so I took a chance on this one

it's sold at Sams club for 9.99.

White background? It will drain any battery in 5 minutes. There is a reason why it's in black.

A few years back, I received an older model of this for Christmas. They really are great for quick drawings, to-do lists and notes.

As is listed in the item description, the battery doesn't seem to ever need replaced (at least mine hasn't yet). The battery is only used to erase the screen, so there's no constant power draw. Neat little gadget and very handy.

For all intents and purposes, think of it as a small Magna Doodle with an automatic erase function.

Excellent product. It's essentially a basic LCD (like an old school Kindle) dry erase board that has a magnetic backing. It's very useful on the fridge for quick notes. The screen is pressure sensitive and you can use finger tips or the included stylus to write with. The message or drawings you create are displayed indefinitely (screen does not sleep) until you push the erase button to reset the canvas to black. I've had one for almost three years and it has worked flawlessly the entire time.

This is perfect for college math. I was going through hundreds of sheets of scratch paper for complex problems. I can't recommend it enough.

These things are awesome if you've got young kids. Never ending drawing surface.... our two are still going strong after a couple years of use.
