How is this as a desktop office computer? Is it better to get a 1440 QHD for viewing text, excel productivity etc?

I'm not sure I would call it "updated", since it is missing the DisplayPort.

I bought this monitor for $250 during Black Friday as a second monitor and it's been amazing. Please don't listen to people who say "1080p at this size is horrible." It looks extremely clear. Obviously, when compared to my 1440p, you can tell a difference, so if you have anything similar, keep that in mind. But if you're planning on using this as your only monitor or a second monitor then it's absolutely wonderful and you won't be seeing the pixels, like people without 1080p 34'' ultrawide monitors try to make you believe.

I have a 34" 1440p that I LOVE... Though I think I am going to wait for a 27" 1440p to go on sale for $200-300 then get it and a 2nd smaller monitor to mount vertically next to it for more screen real estate.
