It has been hard to find 17" laptops with resolution better than 1080p for too long! If you're going to carry around a thing that big, why stick with 1080p/FHD?! Many people won't settle for 1080p on a FIVE INCH SCREEN in their pocket... I don't understand why it took this long to get 1080+ in a 17" laptop (without shooting into stratosphere prices). /end rant

Mine should arrive tomorrow, I'll let you know what I think.

Never completely understood the 1070 mobile version. It's supposed to be the same as the desktop model but clocked much lower?

I bought a different model 2 days ago.
Details are here

Point I am trying to make is that I was able to get $55 discount by calling.
So if someone wants to buy this then call you will get some sort of discount for sure. I think they offer 5% right away and in that case it will be $75 discount.

how do these laptop monitors work? This one is 4k so it's gonna be terrible going back to 1080p? gtx 1070 will struggle at 4k, I know I have one.

to continue my rant...

I don't get people that get off on laptops that are a couple millimeters thinner or a few ounces lighter. Phone-in-the-pocket does most computing just fine. If you're going to carry around a thing, you're going to want a bag, if you're carrying around a bag, you might as well make it worthwhile a full keyboard, more screen real estate, etc.

99.9% of use cases warrant a smartphone (including phablet) on one end... Or a 17" laptop, and nothing in between!? I'm confused by the existence of (not to mention the popularity of) surface, tablets, macbook air, etc. Wtf!?

I dunno, i'm 6'4" 210 lbs, so maybe i should "check my privilege" on carrying heavy things, but people pay dollars for the chance to lift heavy things at a gym. I don't mind doing it on the go.

Still though, i (& most people should) expect a laptop to spend 99% most of its life on desks, and mobile computing to be handled by smartphone. I add a bluetooth keyboard in the pocket to stay hands free when not in use, but still allow faster input (note-taking).

If you're age and weight are both 90, please settle for the macbook air.

If you want mobile computing, get a keyboard that goes in your pocket to pair with your phone.

If you're going to carry a thing, make it worthwhile & get a 17" w/ better than 1080p.

Not sure, but this review speaks highly of gaming performance: http://www.pcworld.com/article/31...price.html

It would be a waste if they put G-Sync & a GTX 1070 with a slow panel. I'd hope they wouldn't.
