I have several reolink cameras (hardwired and wireless) and they are a really good bargain even at regular prices. Couldn't help but jump on a couple of these.

30% off the retail $125, promotion is automatically applied.

A 1440p Super HD 3X optical zoom PTZ security camera, with 2.4/5.8 GHz dual-band WiFi and 2T2R MIMO antennas, talk and listen, plug and play.

For information, check reviews of other reolink cameras on Amazon including the C1 that cost more than this C2:

I have my other reolinks sending RSTP stream to a dahua NVR and use the RSTP stream on wall mounted tablets and they don't miss a beat.

Thanks for the post. I've been looking around recently and for 1440p + all the features this seems like a really good deal.

We have the 1080p as a baby monitor and it works fine. This would be excellent.
You don't need that much resolution for a baby monitor, but the more the better.
Considering Reolink's standard prices are very good, this would be a no brainer since it's priced below the 1080p version.

Also, Reolink has a good Windows desktop app in addition to the mobile app.
I don't use the mobile app though, I use TinyCam due to the support for home screen widgets.

I don't see that in the specs anywhere and they're pretty clear about it on their other cameras that do support POE.

Do you know the difference between the C1 and the C2? I take it the C2 is newer but is there any advantage to order the C2 over the C1?

The obvious thing would be resolution (1440p vs 1080p which is a big difference) and it's actually cheaper than the C1.

Thanks. Another question-if my internet speed/quality isn't that great will it make a huge difference between the 1440p and 1080p?

Does it do sound detection? For me that is important in a baby monitor. Also, can I keep the app streaming the sound when my phone's screen is off?

Not exactly sure what you're trying to do, but I assume you're talking about remove viewing?
Yes there is definitely a big difference in upload bandwidth. It's about double.

Now if you're just wanting to view across your LAN, like for a nursery, pet camera, etc... then it isn't really a concern.

Having said all that... I would not recommend setting up an upload stream from a camera directly for remote viewing unless you plan to have it public. There are a lot of security concerns with opening up ports to outside traffic. Kind of like locking your front door with a paperclip. It's locked, but easy to get around. I'm not a security expert, but am knowledgeable in Tech so I can't give an advanced explanation.

Dropcams, Arlo cams, Ring doorbell, etc... are much better suited with their cloud storage and remote access.

We don't use ours like that but I doubt it. Sorry I can't really say.
We have a dedicated audio monitor and only check the video stream when we have a concern or want to check in.
