Roland FP25 Digital Piano Bundle at Costco $599 + tax, free shipping

$599.00

This is the Costco exclusive bundle. The piano retails elsewhere as Roland FP30 and has great reviews. It is a prosumer model that competes with Yamaha P115 and Kawai ES100, and at this price this is a great deal.

Update: Can stack the 25 off 250 coupon making it an even slicker deal...

Here is a good comparison of popular choices in this price category:

Headphones look pretty bad, kind of a deal breaker.

JK. But this looks like something that should definitely be hooked up to a mixer or PC because it's got pretty limited on-board options.

I've been eyeing this deal even at $699.99. This is a great price! The piano itself is usually $699.99 and rarely goes on sale, and this includes the stand and pedal bar (worth another ~$175).

It's worth noting it doesn't have bluetooth compared to FP-30, but the USB/MIDI can serve all of that functionality to connect with apps.

I have the Yamaha DGX-650 and while I really like it... I just don't utilize 90% of the features.

How does this compare quality and sound wise? (if anyone knows)

Thanks

Compared to DGX-650, FP-25 has less bells and whistles, but sound is better generated (each key is individually sampled on the Roland), as is key action (has triple sensors and models let off). It also has much more half-pedal steps (it can detect more precisely how hard you are pressing on the pedals to more accurately model the sustain etc). It's considered one of the best digital pianos for its price class (if not the best).

Of course, at this price range, things often come down to personal preference (some enjoy the brighter sounds of Yamaha or lighter key actions compared to Roland). I'd try to test one in a store before buying. If your local Costco doesn't carry these, try a FP-30 at a music store that carries Rolands.

They're available as unique code flyers in store, but other users have posted them in this thread (I got mine from here):

Same as the fp-30 minus the Bluetooth. However, it still has the USB connectivity.

Hope that helps.
