[Heads Up] Yelp Cash Back Program

+19 Deal Score

Yelp has launched a cash back program for people who like to dine out.

All we have to do is just link the credit card we use to dine most often and search "cashback" on yelp for participating stores.
https://www.yelp.com/cashback

I feel it's a good deal as we don't have to pay anything and can get possible cash back after linking credit card.
I searched around my work/ home places and there are quite some restaurants I go frequently participating in this program.

The only downside are that yelp can access our transaction after we link cc and also it's unknown how secure is their server.

I'm already a member of Delta airlines dining rewards club. I wonder if this will stack with that.

It says thousands of restaurants, but fails to list a single one. Any more info on this?

There are very little restaurants in the Seattle area AND they can use this information to target offers to you, but I still signed up since saving 5-10% when dining out is worth it to me!

Either it is the same system they use for all the airline dining programs, in which case it is 1 credit card per program, or a different system in which case all the restaurants will be different.

Browsed the list, looks like the exact same list from the airline programs.

Edit: Maybe not exactly the same, found a restaurant I know I got miles from the in the past that isn't on the Yelp list.

it uses Mogl on the backend and thus can't stack with Mogl or LivingSocial's cashback. But it does stack with Rewards Network which is what all the airlines use.

That being said, their list is not the same as Mogl/LivingSocial in my area so if you want to register with both, you have to use 2 cards (and remember which is which...)

I wonder what happens if you use it at a restaurant that's available for both LS and Yelp though, that have different cashback percentages. Would you get neither, the lower one, the higher one, or something random?

Any idea if this will negate the 3% cashback on the costco visa? Or will you get both/

I tried 4 cards. It did not work with Discover, and could not use any that linked with LS. And the last AE card it just gave an 'error'!

If you try to register a card on Yelp that's already registered at LivingSocial, you will receive an error message of "Sorry! It looks like this card has already been registered through LivingSocial.com."
