Funny it made front page couple days ago, now there is no attention at all... Smilie

Anyway I purchased this for the gym on bf sale. I was between these or beats 3, but because of the price difference I ended up with the jaybirds. At first I almost return it, but now I got used to them.
There are some issues that was driving me crazy
The most annoying one for me is that when running the band would stick to my neck preventing me to turn my head sideways, and if I did it would pull it out, even though it's pretty secure. This seen to be going alway as I wear it, it still happens but a lot less frequently.
Then there was some pain in my ear because of the fins that they provide to secure it, which I got used to it and doesn't hurt anymore.
Quality wise they are great and they kind isolates the ambient noise a lot which is good for me. I noticed a white noise when audio stops and it doesn't receive data anymore for couple seconds until it stops completely.
Last thing is that when for example typing on my phone and the keyboard sound is all lagged, it could be my phone (iPhone 6) but it does not bother me as my main use for it is for Spotify music and after a music is playing it doesn't effect it at all. I also use my iPad for watching movies while running on treadmill and it works fantastic for that purpose too.

You see there is a lot of cons that almost made me return this device, the white noise it's almost noticeable anymore, the pain is gone, the lag when typing something doesn't bother me as after I set a song and put on my pocket, it works as it should, on movies there is no voice lag, and the only thing that still annoys me a little bit it's the string sticking out and pulling a piece out.

Also battery life it's great for me, I spend about 1-2 hours at the gym and it last me 4 days without recharging. Some may think that's not enough for others purposes. Bluetooth range is really good one of the best I have seen on a device. It usually leave my iPad at the treadmill to go to get some paper towels and I never had any hiccups whatsoever.

Hope this is helpful in any way.

why would you throw away the old ones even if they told you to unless you already have the new replacement in your possession. If you had ever replacements under warranty you would know that usually and almost always, the company wants the old broken item back as proof and sometimes for the purpose of studying the defects to improve on future models. From what you said, I think they are just following standard practices followed by many companies. So in the future, save all your receipts, hold on to the old broken products and hope the company don't screw you over.

Paid more for my X2 a little over a year ago. Great sounding headphones, I just wasn't excited for the price I paid. I'd feel much better paying this price

fwiw, I've had to rma 3 of the jaybird, one og and 2 X2s. first two sets lasted about 6 months and then would refuse to turn on after a charge. 3rd pair lasted a week before it went straight into pairing mode and buttons wouldn't work. 4th pair now, but customer service has been patient with me. agreed they sound good but durability is questionable imo.
