I loved my spectre x360 until it died a year later and HP wanted $400 to repair it. I don't trust HP quality anymore.

this is a generation newer than what you may have had and is arguably one of the best if not the best 13" of 2016. while i really wanted a 15" i broke down and got this 13" and love it.

Why DDR3??? Is it just me or does that not make sense with how modern the other specs are?

Same, buying HP is like buying a ticking time bomb for an expensive paperweight. I vowed to never get one again (except the spectre x2 for 300 recently...worth a shot on its price, but expecting it to die in a year lol)

Even I wondered the same. I was looking for a nice spec upgrade this year including DDR4. I couldn't understand why they didn't upgrade that. Anyways, not I am convincing me to change my mind to XPS 13 or Lenovo 910. It should be around same price.

I wish HP used a precision touchpad! This and the XPS 13 are the top two Windows ultrabooks, imo.

They're cheap (hp), already have tons of ddr3 modules in stock/ motherboards which use them. Same reason they still use a 2mp webcam.

My grandfather Sebastian worked for HP when they first started so I've always bought their products, but this is your flagship product and you are cutting corners.ZzZZz

I wish I would have waited for this instead of buying my XP 15 (9550). The machine has not lived up to its price tag.

The X360 caught my eye when I saw this review from The Verge [theverge.com].

Even the latest 15W intel cpus, such asi7-7500U [intel.com], do not support LPDDR4.
They support DDR4, but battery life in the ultrabook market comes before memory speed, so LPDDR3 is preferred.
