maybe, maybe not. the atmos built-in versions just came out so this is a wave of drop to help clear the old ones

i have this set minus the sub, using a dayton 12" for more punch
does its job

Yup- much better off skipping the Pioneer sub and getting the Dayton 12, price isn't that much difference but performance of the subwoofer is

Without the sub amazon has it for $340. I scored the Dayton 12 for $110, so not a bad set for less than $500.

good basic set...
would be nice to spend more and get some kef q100s and a nice sub... that would be the ultimate system under $700 imo

I am building almost exactly the same system now - already ordered a Pioneer center channel and floor-standing speakers
Still on the fence re Dayton 1200 sub - from what I've read so far it seems to be the best bang for the buck...

How are these compared to new Andrew Jones ELAC B5/B6 series?

There will be differing opinions, but if it was me, I'd get the 52s, and forget about the rest in this package. Sub isn't particularly good, and the center is complained about a lot over at AVS.

52s + pair of Dayton Airs for backs = $230ish.
Dayton 1200 = $130ish.

So $360 total and hunt down a center somewhere else. Any center ... it's hard to do worse than the C22. If you want to stay in the AJ family, instead get the ELAC C5 center at $180 extra.
