If you can, I'd suggest jumping on this ASAP. I have this tank and stand and love it. Just be aware that the tank itself is just the first of many things you'll need to buy for a complete tank setup.

The light is borderline useless. I still use it to help light the very back of the tank, but you'll need to spend at least $100 to get good lighting, especially if you're going the "planted" route. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pro...atid=32451

I bought two HOB (hang on back) filters that cost approximately $30-50 each. https://www.amazon.com/AquaClear-...60FUW?th=1

Good, SAFE inert black sand set me back another $40. https://www.petsmart.com/fish/sup...0Specialty

Two heaters cost another $25-30 each. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pro...oCO0nw_wcB

That's about $250-$300 on top of the cost of the tank and doesn't even include a thermometer, gravel vacuum, fish net, decorations, and -- oh yeah -- FISH. Smilie

Still, if you're willing to make the investment, this is a great tank to purchase, whether you're a first-timer or veteran. My tank with angelfish, rams, cardinal tetras, cory cats, and bristlenose catfish is thriving after purchasing on Father's Day. I haven't regretted it one bit. GET THIS TANK AND STAND NOW Smilie

This is the cheapest ever, I got this when it was on sale at $300 1 year ago. So tempting to get another.

Not even all of 12/24, the 20% expires at 6:30am ET. Only 3.5 hours left!

Sadly I am out of state, and won't be back for their 5 day hold policy (after which they refund your order and put the item back in stock). But wow what an amazing deal and would have loved to have a 75 gal for so cheap.

Google search brings up cases where the glass had shattered and ruined home flooring. Still very tempted...

That's typically user error / negligence. A big cause is not taking the time to level the tank. Marineland is a quality manufacturer and this is a smoking hot deal if you're in the market. If you do a visual inspection of the seals when you set up and take a little care in what you're doing, a blowout like that is incredibly unlikely for a competent fishkeeper.

Any glass aquarium will shatter under certain restraints, every product also has had defective models. This is marineland aquarium, with black silicone (an upgrade on custom built tanks) just make sure you level within reason (1/8") half full of water. Any more arguably will cause short life span. If you have a front to back lean and a side to side lean it is worse causing a twisting motion stressing the glass. Take your time setting up and you should be fine

Definitely, lots of people keep them in 55's so a 75 would be roomy
