Beware of toshiba. They are struggling to stay in business from that I hear and they stopped making repair parts for tvs just 2 yrs old so if it breaks you will have to toss it. I had to toss a 58 inch cause I could not find a $100 part. My other once a week runs on without volume and I have to unplug it for 20 minutes for it to restore. Stay away or buy a 5 yr warranty plan

Fair points, but let's be honest, 95% of cases tv is disposable as cost of repair and parts is almost the cost of a new TV of similar size and type by the time such things break.

Toshiba doesn't make TVs anymore. Since 2015, they are made by Compal. Don't know if that's good or bad, but experience with a pre-2015 Toshiba wouldn't be relevant.

$600 TV sounds tempting... is this toshiba a equal class model to the recent Samsung EPP deals:

as in the KS8000 class:

Toshiba=worst ever.
I've had several Toshiba TVs over the years, as well as a laptop and they've all been solid. I currently have a 55" 3d 240hz that I bought a good long while ago, probably 5years, and it still has a great picture.

Maybe things have changed recently but Toshiba at least used to be a good product.
