Looks like a really good deal for a cool looking home control RGBW light option - decent enough reviews - I am taking a chance on them. Had my eye on them last year - looks like this deal has not been posted yet, but beats the prior deals for the starter kit.

As usual with the Fry's deals, you will need a code that anyone who has signed up for Fry's email deals will have. Not sure if signing up for it now will get you the code, but the deal goes through Jan 7th.

For those of you already getting the Fry's emails, it would be the email for Monday Jan 2nd with the subject line starting:

"This is the Year to Make Your Home Smart!"

(To avoid triggering deal alerts I did not use the complete subject line which references other deals)

EDIT - new code for this week - ends 21 January!

New email subject begins:

"Smart Home Tech 2-Day Sale!"

I signed up and got an instant code, it worked. But I am not purchasing another one of these right now... already took advantage of a few recent deals on these. They are very nice.

One was for $160 if I remember correctly, and one was this starter pack plus a 3-panel expansion pack (usually $60) for $199. Both were from Best Buy.

Both are pretty easy to find if you search "nanoleaf" on Slickdeals

Let us know how you like them. I only watched one review that said the app isn't the best. Difficult connection, but we're beautiful lights

I received these a few weeks ago from the bestbuy deal for $160 plus tax. In sum, I really like them and they offer quite a wow factor in our foyer. I had very minor connection issues with the app and setting it up with Apple Homekit but easily resolved. I think the app is pretty well featured for this young of a product, though I understand it really is geared towards the Apple ecosystem which I am on. I definitely love them more than my hue bulbs although they serve different purposes: Hue bulbs are for practically, usable lighting while these are just fun and artsy.
With that said, when I think of them as an art installation, I think the price is reasonable enough at the $150-$160 range. However, Aurora really seems to benefit from more panels (i think 9 is the minimum for anything worthwhile) so I ordered a second kit at this price.
Last thing, a notable inconvenience is finding a way to discrete hide/cleanly install the power supply and cable. My area doesn't really have any good places so I just wrapped it up cleanly.

Since you have these, and mine have not yet arrived… Can you comment on how well they connect to an Amazon Echo / Alexa ? How much control do you have over them? Or are you not in the Amazon ecosystem as well as the Apple one? :-)

Haven't joined the Alexa club yet, though thinking about it with all the interest it is generating. Unfortunately, it does not support Alexa yet but according to their website, support should be available by the end of the month. https://nanoleaf.me/en/our-story/your-future/

They have offered the deal again for the upcoming week! So if you missed it - look for your codes.
