Rebate declined

6 10 January 3, 2017 at 10:20 AM
hello. I bought a dell laptop during thanksgiving. There was a mail in rebate with this laptop. o submitted all the required documents for the mail in rebate. when I checked the status for this mail in rebate around 15th of december, I found that it has been declined, saying the receipt for the product has not been submitted. Now, i hadnt received any receipt with the dell package, so I submitted the email-receipit which I had got from dell when i had purchased. Isnt email-receipt sufficient ?. in case it isnt, then please advise what is needed to process this mail in rebate further. I have sent more than 100 emails after 15th december, but havent received any reply. there isnt a contact number, where I can call and explain my case. can somebody please help on this and advise on how this rebate can be processed.

I haven't done a rebate for years. This is just one of many reasons another is I don't like to wait.

If the item, whatever it may be is discounted in a rebate then I always wonder why the price isn't simply lowered in the 1st place. Confused

Rebates suck. Mad

So who is the rebate through if not Dell? If it is Dell, then call them or hammer them on twitter or something. You are looking up your status somehow, is there no contact information there?

You may be out of luck on this one. Manyrebates I have come across are little more than scams that exist just to void your ability to return an item in the 30 day window.

Huh, haven't dealt with SD rebates before. I would start PMing some mods.

Generally when I've had a dispute over a rebate, I send a fairly terse letter with a copy of my original submission documenting that everything was sent right the first time via certified mail to the address given on the rebate form. If you've got a few versions of something like a receipt or invoice submit all additional variants when you write.

After getting screwed over by tigerdirect on a rebate many years ago I got a bit anal about rebates.

Call the company who is processing the rebate. the info is on the original form. Keep copies of everything and usually they will let you resubmit. My guess is the email isn't sufficient and you need the "Invoice" from the dell website.

I didn't know slickdeals offered its own branded rebates, but I see they do. Anyway, there's contact information the FAQ page at the bottom: https://slickdeals.4myrebate.com/Home/FAQ

"please contact our customer service department at 800-286-9146"

Your receipt should be available on the dell website.

hi, i'm moving your thread to the rebates forum. Smilie

for assistance you should email our in house rebates team at rebates@slickdeals.net

as described here, it's helpful if you format your email as follows:

Quote :
If you want to email us with questions about a rebate, please make sure you enter the following into the subject line:

Subject: Problem with Rebate for SKD-##### (offer ID)

Example: Problem with Dell Rebate for SKD-10031

For the body of the email, please include a short description of your problem along with your rebate tracking number so we can forward this over to our rebate processor. All rebate inquiries should be sent to rebates@slickdeals.net.

As a first time slickdeals rebate participator, I agree their rebate submission process should be better. I was also declined after submitting what I thought was a receipt. An order confirmation which shows payment confirmation with product information is what you typically see on receipts. Notice should also be provided after a rebate is processed/declined as there is a time limit of 30 days for resubmission of missing requirements. How does one know how long he/she has without being notified when that time starts? Also, the rebate tracking list should indicate why a rebate was declined along with next steps to take(this would reduce number of calls to their support line).

hi

speaking generally:

1. if it says email confirmation then that, if it says invoice, then they wan tinvoice and nothing else. typically it clearly states and shown how to get it (our blog and such). it will be declined if you send confirmation and invoice if asked for

2. notice it sent out to your email and many elect texting too. what i do is keep that email submission in mailbox and set email reminders every monday to check. it's my money, and I want to keep an eye on it

3. rebate tracking does do that and in email you get when approved or declined, it says what to do enxt
