Was looking at the BowFlex 552 thread and started researching PowerBlock. Looks like Dicks just put them on sale along with $25 Dicks cash for a future purchase.

PowerBlock Elite 5 - 50 : http://www.dickssportinggoods.com...d=66203906

PowerBlock Classic 50 : http://www.dickssportinggoods.com...Id=3903097

PowerBlock Sport 50 : http://www.dickssportinggoods.com...d=70482036

More about the different sets on PowerBlocks website : http://www.powerblock.com/prod_homeuse.php

Dicks page also has a 10% off your first online purchase promotion. The sign up box is at the bottom of the page. That could potentially make it $270 but may invalidate the $25 GC.

Also raise.com [raise.com] sells Dicks gift cards with up to a 17% discount. The gift card does not affect the 10% discount or the $25 gift card making this potentially around $230.

Note: The Elite set is still made in the USA and carries a 10 year warranty. The Sport and Classic sets are made in China like the SelectTechs.

Possible coupons: HLDG8243 will take $20 off of $100 or more but may invalidate the $25 Dicks Cash. Some people might not care though.

Anyone with experience that can comment between the models? Since they are the same price I'm assuming the Elite 50 is the way to go since it can be expanded?

Holy crap. Thanks man. Just bought a $289.77 face value gift card for $244.86 through that site (ended up with raise.com as the card seller). Decided on the Elite 50 since I can expand them, $275.33 with tax after the gift card plus will be getting the $25 cash card. $250 is definitely worth it for these.

Damn...was so excited about the gift card that I didn't even look for coupons. That would have put them at less then the SelectTech's.

The $25 dicks cash with 150 purchase promo? I didn't see any mention of it during checkout or confirmation.

I own the Classics and actually saw this deal yesterday.....didn't think of posting.

I bought mine on Craigslist and was looking for the expansion sets. They do make them for all of these models, but I'm pretty sure they are specific to the set and not interchangeable.

The Classics are completely square. I am a little jealous of the rounded edges on the other models. The square clips you every now and then and gets in the way.

I am not much of a weight lifter - day 7 p90x today!

I am using the branded folding stand that I found at floor model price from Dicks ($50 i think). It does the job on carpet when moving from bedroom to living room. You will have trouble switching weight if these are not on a semi firm surface. I was wondering what I was doing wrong at first directly on the carpet (Classics).

Thanks. Picked up an Elite. Ended up being cheaper than the 552s!

$299 - $20 (coupon) - $51 (raise) = $228 before tax.

If you're looking for a stand, I built this stand with parts from Harbor Freight. Works great, half the price.

The Elites were probably the best investment I made for my home gym. Expanding them to heavier weights is crucial for many of us.
