Sears liquidations heads up ... possibly (YMMV)

Posted 01-04-2017 by berriesandnuts at 10:33 AM
Just a heads up.
Nothing concrete on deals or prices yet, but heard from my nearby Sears that they're closing within the next 3 months and will be starting liquidation sales after the 6th.

I'm assuming it's stock on hand item? I guess you have to already know the prices of the items you're interested for comparison purposes and to make sure you're really getting a deal.

I know I already have my eye on a few things and what they've cost in the past. So if they say "50%" off, I'll really know.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Sears and Kmart are not going out of business. They are closing stores that lose money.

Thleir liquidation sales are run by 3rd parties and are a joke. Everything in the store is cheaper now than it will be then. Yet people will flock and buy everything up at the inflated prices.

They are having short term liquidity problems. Translating to layman's term, short in cash to pay its expenses. I give them 1 year lifespan left on life support. I bet (double down) the plug will be pulled by 4Q17.

Sears is borrowing more money from CEO Eddie Lampert's hedge fund to stay afloat.

The company announced Thursday that it obtained a loan called a secured standby letter of credit for an initial $200 million, with the option to expand the amount to $500 million.

Last time they closed some stores, those locations disappeared from their web sites for in-store pickup about 2 weeks before it happened.

local sears hardware is going out of business, about 15 days left till the doors close. Currently at 47% off , how low will they drop the prices? No coupons no online price matching either, there are a few things I would possible pick up.

yeah that blows wonder how much they actaully sold does the store even look as if they sold anything...perhaps they just shifted the higher priced merchandise to a nearby store or a warehouse if there is one...another reason to not get to excited about closings til perhaps last couple of weeks you can walk in and see what is left...I remember when CompUSA closed did not go in until the last day when I picked up a few laser printers for $1 each lol..just wait for it and til then use your points
