Dell U2717D vs. P2715Q Monitor

256 38 January 6, 2017 at 11:29 AM
So I have the option of getting two 27" monitors from works: U2717D or P2715Q

I primarily use dual monitors for work (email, Excel, etc.) and web/graphic design. A third monitor usually has email or Netflix running in the background. I do not do any gaming if that helps.

Does anyone have any experience between the two? the P2715Q (4K) has a 60-day waiting period so they offered the U2717D as an alternative. I like the ultra-thin bezels of the U2717D but not sure if it more worth it to wait for two 4K monitors.

Thanks! Appreciate any feedback.

The P2715Q is higher resolution and can display more colors and in my opinion its the better monitor considering you do design, if you have a computer that can run a pair of them. Know that at native 4k you will most likely need to scale email, excel things like that but its fanstic for wanting to display more.

I wish I had a job that I could justify $1100 in monitors + a $300+ GPU to drive them.

The only way I would take the other monitors is if dell was offering a deep discount.

That's what I am trying to figure out. I can get the monitors but not sure if two 4K P2715Qs will work. I have a Dell Latitude 7450 with Intel HD Graphics 5500 and 15" MacBook Pro Retina with Intel Iris 5200 Pro.
