These high end models never go on sale. Not a bad price... And not refurbished it seems.

I consider my wife and I successful and live a pretty comfortable life. I consider a purchase like this something way above our means. something a millionaire would have in his home. if you're an average Joe buying this, you need to reconsider your life and priorities

Yet people buy Nespresso machines on here like crazy. At .70 a pod, 2 pods/day, that is $500 year. One of these will last you a lifetime and buying your own coffee is so much cheaper.

Not saying I own one of these, I opted for a super automatic cause I'm lazy, but you can't just look at a purchase like this in isolation. I did buy a Nespresso though, spent a ton of dough on pods over several years and just wish I opted for something else from the get go.

the .70 is a little high, still you have to buy coffee and a good grinder for the regular machines like this, so price difference isnt that crazy.
$1500 is a bit steep for most around here, still most that could afford this are most likely just gonna hit up a coffee shop anyways.

If one were content with average joe, they would have no need for this.

Really a drop in the hat when considering people purchase new cars like it's their job and take the hit on depreciation. I know I could get my moneys worth out of this, but I also enjoy coffee very much.

Yet people buy $30k cars and lose $2-$3k in depreciation in months

You seem to be totally misguided. Average joes...perhaps not but see all the front page deals for $4k watches....

The problem with these is that they don't last a lifetime. I have a seco version also high end. It lasted 4 years before issues started to develop.

Funny. It's not bad advice to stick with the cheap stuff if you are trying to save. Coffee, wine, beer, the cheap stuff will all do the job at a fraction of the price. But once you try the good stuff, it's hard to go back!

Ignorance is bliss for your wallet!!
