First time posting a deal, I have been looking for them to drop the price a bit for a while, just saw it drop tonight. it can also be clubbed with the 25 off visa checkout option another user posted as a deal.
I have not tried the email offer with this, but the visa checkout 25 worked with the open box version.

I hope this helps anyone looking for a decent gsync monitor.
there is some tax charged and the 25 off took a lot of it, I am not sure of way to bypass the tax though.
Total price after tax and the 25 coupon was 457.70 for open box
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I have this monitor right next to a 1440 IPS display. After calibration the difference is negligible. Before calibration the IPS blew it out of the water. I got 2 different IPS gsync monitors before returning them and ending up with this. I wasn't willing to deal with backlight bleed and dead pixels to get slightly better color.

Just confirmed that the $25 off with Visa Checkout works on the new monitor. Excellent deal! TU + rep

Are Best Buy open box monitors worth the trouble?

$475 with VCO isn't the best price. But these have stayed pretty solid around there $$ wise. I doubt they will get drastically cheaper, due to GSYNC and license fees.

You think? I'm genuinely curious because I've been waiting for this monitor to go below $500 for the past month or so. Frontpage deals over the course of the past year have it in the $450 - $530 range. Granted, I've only been watching prices for it new, not refurbished or open-box.

Thanks OP! I've been waiting on this to get back to $500. $25 Visa checkout promotion, plus the $10 BB rewards email make this deal even sweeter.

I didn't get the open-box because I'm afraid of getting a monitor with dead pixels, but that is a smoking deal with the extra $25 off.

Thanks OP. VCO is a a push when I factor in tax. Wish these G syncs weren't so resistant to discounts. Or even better, wish Nvidia supported free sync.

TN Panel = Poop

You're an idiot. Go find a 27" IPS G-Sync monitor for $500 (or less) that doesn't have QC issues. We'll wait.

Having said that, these were $299 a few weeks ago but sold out very fast.

I have a U2715h and a 980ti, and swtiched to a PG278Q (144hz, TN, 1440p and Gsync) and I like it so much better even it is a TN panel. The TN/IPS difference isn't that noticeable in game, and 144hz is just too nice.

But you definitely want a 1080ti to power it. With a 980ti I can only play most modern games at 144hz on low or a mix or low/medium setting. But for games like the Witcher 3 Gsync really makes it up for it.

I bought one a couple months ago and thought it looked like poop even after all the adjustment setting all over the web. For $299 I would have been happy Smilie

Mine looks fine after proper calibration. PEBCAK, I suspect.

I've been considering this monitor vs the Acer predator xb271hu at Costco for $650 for a few weeks now. QC issues associated with the Acer are a bit easier to swallow considering it's from Costco, so returns won't be a problem.

I've always had TN panels so I don't know if the jump to IPS is worth the extra $150 for me. I'd mostly be using this as a gaming monitor with my new GTX 1080.
