Lag in recording.

video quality of ezviz is much better than arlo, especially nite vision.

most important - how come a security system can't record realtime video, arlo is just a toy and i just can't trust it.

ezviz is the residential line of hikvision, which is pretty much the king of security cam industry.

Can you elaborate why this is better? I just purchased the Arlo Q and thought I was getting a great picture and features for the price / ease. Cloud storage is a must as I will be monitor multiple remote locations and need (working) smart phone capabilities.

From what I gather 7 day cloud recording stored. From my quick research, my understanding is that they only record when motion is detected, correct? I've also read a few post up that if you run in and out of the room quick enough (under 5 seconds???), although motion was detected, the recording doesn't start immediately.

Can someone with this camera verify?

My primary use for this camera will be through a window to cover the front of the house. I've had kids steal packages. My current (old school....non HD) CCTV camera isn't clear enough to identify faces. These kids are quick. They are on bikes and scope out door steps. Once they acquire a target, his buddy holds his bike a few houses down and he'll run in, grab and run out of view within 5 seconds. Because this camera lacks the option of recording to an SD card (in additional to the cloud service)...I'm afraid if they're too quick, the cloud recording may not show those very important 5 seconds if there was a delay in recording.

But, the wifi version you mentioned about is the standalone camera version, right?

I cannot find a EZVIZ "WiFi" product variant that supports multiple cameras and hookups to a storage box.
