Hmm, is this working for anyone? I subscribed, but didn't receive any conformation number or email and all of the digital subscription and customer service links were broken or 404 in the completion page. I feel like I was just ripped off.

I was worried, and the same thing happened to me. However, the confirmation email is just slow, and came through within 6 hours. Once you get the confirmation email, you will be able to signup for digital access immediately.

They should fix their customer service links though!

Great deal. My subscription just ended, and there was no way I was paying the $99 a year they wanted to renew.

I got this instead.

Just be careful, this will auto-renew automatically at whatever the current price is.

Was just looking for a deal on starting up a new subscription, does Bill Me Later let me pay with a check and avoid the auto-renew? Thanks OP!

This is a very good deal if you want the security of a long term subscription. On the other hand, if you're willing to sign up for a 3 month term at Amazon, and you can keep extending it (as long as they continue the offer), then try this link [amazon.com]. Three months of all-access for $5.00 and auto renew at current regular costs. It's easy to turn off auto-renew in Amazon's subscription manager. I've been able to keep my current sub going for about 1 year already AND I usually purchase two 3 month subs within the same day. Have purchased gifts using this method for three additional friends.
I also enjoy their Daily Dispatch email, but it was a bitch getting it set up in my account. Their CSRs can't figure it out usually, and they really try (or so it seems).

This is a great idea, and likely a more reliable way to keep the subscription. Mind if I ask how you resubscribe without missing an issue? Can you immediately cancel the subscription, then just resubscribe a week or two before the 3-month window? Thanks!

Edit: One more question: how did you discover this? I can't find it through any search terms on Amazon. I'm asking because I'm also on the lookout for cheap subs to Harper's, The Economist, and The Paris Review.

Sign up for two separate 3 month offers about 2 hours apart. probably could even do it immediately but I just wait. Then go to sub manager and turn off auto-renew. Set a reminder to repeat 4-5 months later. It works until they drop this offer for $5 for 3 mos.
Forgot how I found the offer but I think it was a Black Friday deal from Amazon (2015) that hasn't been dropped. Searched $5 New Yorker trial and found it again.

Does this work in extending a subscription? Or does this only work for new subs?
