Here we go again.
Every time there's a deal on a Zoji's rice cooker or water boiler, we get these.

Let me ask you this. Are you Asian? No? Ok, stick to bread b/c you obviously don't understand rice. Uncle Ben's is not the answer.

Too true, we use ours everyday in our Asian household. bounce

It keeps the rice in perfect eating condition for 72+ hours, if you need this feature, then buy it. It doesn't dry out and from my random samples of temp readings, perfectly safe tempurature as well. If you don't need that feature, then keep doing it on the stove

I will never understand rice cookers.
How hard is it to boil water with a lid on and set a timer...
Also, gas stove is cheaper than electric unit.
And, it's one more appliance for my already crowded kitchen.

That is probably it. I like dried out rice. yummy
Dried out rice is good for next day fried rice. But I'm a single guy that likes perfect standard rice without a lot of work. I cook the rice on Sunday evening with this pot and I just leave it on keep warm and have fresh rice until Thursday to eat.
