  • Be aware the built in apps (DLNA, youtube, netflix, amazon) supports only 1080P (play 4k content in 1080p dimension)
  • Not all HDMI inputs support 4K
  • Hisense service is a joke, good luck getting anything done with their support

Note that others have since refuted the claim above that the built in apps only work at 1080p, not 4k. They confirm that 4k works on at least Amazon, Youtube, and Netflix (Netflix charges $11.99/month for the plan with 4k).

Yeah. Roku would be nice but it is a Smart TV (opera). So you can still access most of the major apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. If you run a Plex server, there is a Plex app or you can navigate to the Video section and find your Plex server that way.

We bought em all. It's not by store as there was no stock within 250 mi of me.

Call Hisense for RMA. On their website it says that 4k TVs have a FOUR YEAR parts/labor warranty. That means they should drop a new TV at your house and pick the old one up.
I accidentally bought with Amex, so there's a little extra help if I need it.

I have 2 of these as monitors.....2 of these vertical mounted and 2 43 inch 4k elements in a beautiful rectangle mounted on the wall in what has ended up being a wonderful thing.

It is of note that when i powered up the monitors i was certain they were going to have to go back. The inital settings were pretty horrible. Granted, i mostly have them set to 1080 instead of 4k but for the price it still seemed like the correct choice.

I used this article to determine what the settings should be.

Yes, i know that is for the 8C and this is the 6C but it worked out perfectly and i don't have any complaints. For the money, it is really tough to beat.

60hz with 4k vs 120Hz with 1080p. which is better.
What are you gonna do with 120hz and 24 fps? Sure, it's divisible, so technically would look smoother....but 4k is a much better upgrade.

HDR for 135 more? That's up to you. 50% more...I'm gonna pass, b/c TVs are toys. Content has to be HDR, so seems pretty irrelevant for the near term...and a toy.

PC monitors for life.
Do you know how the 4k quality compare to the h8c then? I don't care about HDR.

No, but I assume it's basically the same TV minus HDR compatibility. I guess a strictly 8-bit panel is possible, big deal (so could be different).

I do think it's a no-brainer buy at this price. I bought one and I don't watch TV.... lol

I got this model a few weeks ago. It has a great picture, great sound and the setup was easy. Definitely worth it. Especially at this price.

Same here. Got it for my mom since she needed a bigger tv but on a budget.
Impressed with quality for the price.

Going to jump on it. Not that big of a price difference vs. new, but anyone have experience with open box vs open box certified on tvs? Thanks.
