Those people probably never used an Oster in the past. I looked for six months for the "perfect" blender. I make smoothies but I also make hot coffee bullet. The great thing about this blender is that it is GLASS and isn't bothered by the heat. I had a ninja and lets just say it does not handle heat at all. They all cracked.

As to cleaning, the trick is to not overtighten the gasket (you know like don't overtighten you wheel bolts), and there is a stop in the base to make it so easy to take on and off. If you overtighten it by accident (I did this and hot coffee made it really stay on), put it in the base (with the stop down), and use that as leverage for the "opener". They probably never bothered to read the instructions. I use it daily for smoothies and it crushes frozen items without issue. It is about 90% there versus a vitamix (which my dad has) but man it is so much cheaper and glass. I throw the pieces in the dishwasher at least once a week and they come out clean.

Rust probably happens if the person uses powder detergent and over time the bottom will get some rust from the detergent hitting the blade (put it in the back) but my old Oster lasted 15 years with minor rust. It doesn't hurt the operation, and Oster customer service is TOPS (so it vitamix btw). Most people don't know you can destroy stainless by dissimilar metals touching or powder hitting/sticking on the blades.

The best thing about this is that parts are cheap. If you break the glass, its only like $12 to get a new one. You break these plastic ones and they are like $40 or more. Cmon.

The only two issues is: 1: The base is light. So on power up hold you hand on the top so it doesn't go flying. This thing is powerful 2. The top cover and the inner ring (where you would put in a spatula) has a gap and if you use hot liquids a little may spray up so put a towel or just watch out.

Also the smoothie container is VASTLY better and thicker than any of the cheapo ninja containers (and I had the $100 ninja which returned).

In any case this is a great blender and 90% of what you would pay for a $200 blender. I paid almost $75 so this is a great deal, and I don't feel ripped at all paying $75.

I have this blender and have had a ninja... this is an amazing blender. if you like cocktails this is PERFECT. It can absolutely make beautiful snow. I've also made smoothies and shakes. I couldn't be happier with this blender and I paid close to $100

Can someone who already owns it comment?
how good of a food processor is it, from a chopping perspective?
Are there multiple sizes of pieces you can get your vegetables chopped into? How well and types of chopping can you do?
As in, I'm thinking, the various sizes you want for carrots, onions, potatoes, lettuce, etc

I am currently borrowing a buddies Ninja for a juice fast I was on and need to get my own decent blender. I just looked at the size of the ninja cup and it is twice the size as this one. I think I will pass on this. Though it does look good. but I had no issue making me and my wife a smoothie at the same time so I don't really want a much smaller blender cup.

I've not used this one. But, I do have a ninja kitchen 1200 with 2 sizes of pitchers. The ninja chops nice - really nice. Can easily make awesome snocone ice. But the plastic parts on it are very flimsy. The pour spout lids both broke with in a month. So everything spews out. The lids on each attachment are not swappable - even though they are the same size,, so if you misplace (or break) one you cannot use that pitcher any more. Sorry I can't compare the two, just thought I'd give you my 2 cents on the Ninja

I am getting it with 4 years square trade protection for less than $9. I guess it's worth additional $9 to cover for 4 years.
