Appears the body is not metallic and the screen is 720, but hey, it's $100 with 32 GB storage and 3 GB of Ram.

I am seeing condradictory info on the type of display. Amazon says IPS, but a couple spec sites say Super AMOLED

Link to full spec site. I have learned to take these with a grain of salt, but it may answer some of your questions.

Is this like the original Vivo XL that people "referred to" for months afterwards because their POS phones wouldn't charge?

Yep, that's the one. They also referred to it because they like it or made money on it. And they probably had the sense to fix the issue if it was that common.

Yeah, that's already been resolved, as the OP has pointed out. But keep living in the past and ignoring facts in favor of paranoia if you like.

Isn't MediaTek 1.4GHz is slower than Snapdragon 400?
And 720p.... I think similar specced name brand's product also has similar price.

Guys, I know the chinese spyware story. Would you REALLY ever trust this company again? I sure in the hell wouldn't. This goes for all of the other "low cost" knock-off clone makers too. No freaking way.
