Shot in the dark here. 70" TV's are around $1k, 75" TV's around $2k. The only other comparable I found was on Costco's Canadian website here [costco.ca] which has it at $2k. I'm sure there are taxes where applicable and $84 shipping to Texas, so the price varies. Specs below:

In the cutting-edge technology world of 4K Ultra HD TVs, Haier's 75UF2500 is an exceptional value. With the 3840 x 2160 pixel screen, there is more depth and shades of color than you've probably ever seen before. And it exemplifies the razor-sharp clarity and pixel detail which 4K Ultra HD is known for – 4 times the detail of 1080p HDTVs. One of the key advantages of Haier's 2016 models is the latest version of HDMI that supports 4K video up to 60 frames per second. In addition, it supports HDCP 2.2 copy protection, which means you'll be able to enjoy 4K Blu-ray movies.

Features:
Resolution: 3840 x 2160
Dynamic contrast ratio: 5000:1
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Screen size: 75 in. (diagonal)

I bought this at pcrichard. It's pretty good. Add a roku stick or kodi box and it's a smart tv. My major regret is that there is no way to disable the 120 hz motion smoothing or soap opera effect. I watch a lot of films. For sports regular tv or video games it's great.

Can any tv gurus chime in here? I'm not gonna even ask "does it have HDR" lol but is this a nice set? I have a moderately lit room and it will be used for movies and Xbox One. Possibly a PS4 Pro in my future...

PCrichards has had the 5500 at this price for a few months...just not enough reviews out there for me to pull the trigger.

Any TV guru's that can vouch for Haier sets?

good price per inch of real estate

But...panel uniformity on a 75" third tier brand TV?....hmmm.

I would say ..have the right expectations for the price you are paying

It was a Slickdeal at $999. But not at $1299

The reviews I've seen online seem to be in line with what you'd expect from a cheapo TV, no smart features, pretty awful contrast and uniformity, bad menu options, and an awful remote.

People who expected all of the above and just want a bigass picture on a budget, seem to like it.

i have an older 40" haier 1080p tv that i got for $200 like 5 years ago. It's definitely a budget tv and the colors aren't as "natural" as say my lg or sony but overall i like it a lot and still use it daily. it gets fairly bright and while i haven't measured input lag on it, it doesn't feel too bad. Contrast is probably where it suffers the most as dark scenes can either be very dark or slightly saturated but like i said, budget tv. After 5+ years it's been going strong so no durability issues for me. I'd get another haier for sure, but not sure i'd have it as my main tv, so prob not a 75" one. Obviously, every tv line is gonna be different so i can't speak for the uf2500 or 5500 but as a brand, Haier is not terrible. I'd compare it to vizio 10 years ago. Don't have high expectations and it won't disappoint.

it's understandable due to the size, price, and how easily it could be damaged in transit
