$3 Monthly Fee cannot be waived for basic.

For premier checking, waive the $35 Monthly Fee with $6,000 in total direct deposits** or $75,000 in combined balances in deposits and investments held with Santander Investment Services during the service fee period.

What $3 fee?

Simply Right® Checking

Looking for ways to waive the Monthly Fee?
Try Simply Right® Checking.
$10 Monthly Fee is waived when you make any financial transaction that posts during a calendar month. Includes deposits, withdrawals, transfers or payments. Excludes fees, rebates or adjustments posted by Santander.
No minimum balance requirements to avoid the Monthly Fee.
Easy account access at thousands of ATMs, including many CVS/pharmacy® locations.
Convenient mobile tools to manage your account at home or on the go.

That is a targeted mailed promo. This is a different promo. Not the same deal.

I'm in. If my calcs are correct this is a 574% time weighted return until 5/1. Smilie or maybe my math is failing me. either way, one withdrawal or deposit a month waives the $10 fee, park one $500 DD there for 3 months with a $25 funding, $525 out for 3 months get $750 back in 4 months.... easy.

No need to "park" the "$500 DD".

Once it has been deposited you can withdraw it immediately if you liked.

wow. so I put in $25 to start, one DD of $500, can withdraw $498 of it. Withdraw $1 for the next two months (to waive the $10 fee). and then in the fourth month they will give me $225? That's crazy!!!

Correct.

What I did was set up an automatic ACH at Alliant Credit Union to send one dollar twice a month to my Santander account and this satisfies the "any financial transaction that posts during a calendar month" requirement.

Was that through bill pay or transfer?
