Can't tell if this is a really good deal or not. The only reason I'm posting it is because it's the lowest I've seen this go in at least a month. Still considering if I should jump on this or not.

Damn... none of their coupons I've found applies to electronics. Haven't seen a good affordable deal on SD's camera category since that sony a6000 $399 + $50 gc deal in the beginning of January. Still I must wait..... Boxing

That didn't come with a lens right? This is the lowest I've seen with a lens in months. The lowest it's been on SlickDeals with lens is $550 + $50 card and that is without a sd card and a bag and stuff. I still don't know if I should jump on this though Arhg

How is this a deal? I bought the same camera over 2 years ago for > $400 + tax at BestBuy with the same lens. It was open box item, but new in box was $450. Sadly this is still the best camera around for the price and IQ

Not a very good price. I also got one open box from Best Buy a year ago for just over $400.

The best price for brand new a6000 was the buydig deal which included the 16-50 and the 55-210 for $579 https://slickdeals.net/f/8321115-sony-alpha-a6000-camera-w-16-50mm-55-210mm-lenses-579-free-shipping

I've never seen brand new a6000 + kit lens for $450. I've only seen that price for used products

Very tempted but I prefer to go with the 6300. It is a good deal the price on this camera doesn't go down. It's from 2014 and still expensive, the used price is still high.

the EVF on the 6300 is much better and does 4k video. Trying to get as much discounts as possible to buy one. Adorama has it for $1149 and includes a $100 gift card plus I can stack the $25 of $250 from Amex

There is no way this camera with this lens was ever $450 new.

It's been at $499 before through eBay. Saw it here on Slickdeals.

I played with this camera and the newer 6300 at my local shop (Mike's Camera) and coming from dslr's and smaller p&s cameras, the ergonomics, menu, and lens choices are too much of a hindrance to me. No question it has good glass and performs very well, but so does many other cams without the restrictions. My favorites are the Fuji models. If a jpeg shooter (and guessing the majority here are), the Fuji jpegs are gorgeous. Compare both for handling (important), IQ, and ease of menu. Fuji is logically laid out IMO. Maybe a rent one before you buy as they can be like cars with handling and features.

4k yes (not to me, i rarely use video - but for others), the evf difference isn't that much in practical use.

for me, the bottom line was the overall better iq due to the sensor. i couldn't get past that on the fuji. in addition, i shoot raw as well, so i don't care about the jpeg processing.

That's a normal price nothing special. The lens is okay. The 18-55 is a little better.
