This is a very poor and uneducated representation of the brand. My guess is that the poster has never owned one. Second tier? Roland, Yamaha and Korg have all been in business for decades and directly compete with one another. Every brand has it's fanboys, and every fanboy's opinion about the competitor is completely unfounded.

It is good advice to try and play a few to see which suits you. If you aren't able, at least listen to demos online but be aware that a difference in edits or recordings can make one or the other sound better and doesn't help to decide on the responsiveness or feel. This piano at this price is a great deal and that's probably important.

Many people consider Korg's sampling 2nd to none in the keyboard world, which allows them to also have some of the most realistic sounds. This digital piano has a concert grand piano sound as it's main and it is absolutely beautiful.
This, Korg has always been top tier.

got one, thanks. wish it was a Yamaha P115, deal, but that's 50% more - probably not required for my 4yr old taking lessons.

Because the keys are hammer action (weighted). Keyboards, such as those found on Hammond organs, accordions, and portable keyboards do not have this feature.

I would try it in store before buying. Korg is a second tier digital piano brand and I would need to be 100% sure I liked it before buying - especially from adorama.

For a beginner that just needs the basic sounds, and a good weighted action, the p45 bundle for $400 was hard to beat.

Agree and totally get it - but they all seem to have more in common than difference for a beginner or a 4 year old.. I listened to a bunch of samples on a pretty good system and they all sound pretty good within the confines of the small speaker in the piano and even room acoustics. My general take was that I needed to actually be skilled in a piano to appreciate the difference - the teacher sorta agrees - for a 4 year old - she'll love whatever she starts on - assuming it's weighted keys, a full sized piano and the space is conducive to good posture and focus.
