It's a much better deal to opt for the package with the $100 adorama gift card for either bundle. The accessory pack is barely worth $10-20

With the $100 gift card is the best deal so far. I bought it using the $25 off from Amex

Yeah it's effectively about $750 for the body only including rewards and the $100 gift card. That's about what the a6300 is going for used on Craigslist, so a pretty solid deal. I got my a6300 and 16-50 kit lens from Best Buy open box for $650 plus a $100 bby gift card and 5% rewards back though, still haven't been able to beat that one Smilie Also, B&H has matched this deal with their rewards and a b&h gift card

The $100 bby gift card for Sony camera purchases was only running over the holidays and the first couple weeks of January

any main advantage of this one vs a6000 apart from bettert EVF and 4k video support. Granted next step up a6500 has IBIS which seem worth it for an upgrade at right price from a6000

It's a pretty significant upgrade from the a6000 - it's a few years worth of tech in upgrades. System speed and function being one of the top. Read the dpreview review of it.

https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sony-a6300

EDIT: also, because the initial retail of it is so much higher than the a6000 was, the build quality overall is amazing by comparison.

thanks for the post. i bought the a6300. i am wondering though - i have read the 16-50mm kit lens is adequate at best. can someone with good lens knowledge share their take?

and if it isn't all that great, someone please recommend some good lenses to buy for this thing. preferably, just one good lens that can act as a good all-purpose lens to start with.

I plan on buying specialized lenses in the future, but for now, just want to buy one that will get me by for the next 6-9 months while travelling/taking assorted photos of the family in action.

look for prime lens if you don't want to spend $$$, like sony 35mm or sigma 30 mm f2.8 is good lens to start with.

so you recommend this lens for the 6300 for good all around shooting?

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-SEL35...y+35mm+1.8

or is this lens worth the extra cash if i want a good all around lens for multiple purposes? especially since it has zoom functionality?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...PDKIKX0DER

or is this a case where you sony users recommend buying both lenses?

"Sony 35mm F/1.8" lens is at a great price too $398 + 50 Giftcard (can't beat that). Buy this together with the A6300 and you get a great great combo for a long time.

https://www.adorama.com/iso3518egc.html

Edit: The combo Sony A6300 + 35mm F/1.8 OSS lens come out to $1196 + $50 giftcard (No Tax). See below:

Sony A6300 body only = $898 + $100 gift card
35mm F/1.8 OSS lens = $398 + $50 gift card - $100 gift card (from above) = $298 + $50 gift card
Total spent for the combo: $1196 + $50 giftcard (from the lens) to spend on accessories.

Great deal!!!
