Average deal. It is a great entry level TV, but not a very slick price. It is about $100 less than I paid for my 65" KS8500 in November. The Hisense H8C frequently goes on sale for $100-150 less than this and is a slightly better TV. You can also get the LG UH7700 or Vizio M65-D0 right now for same price. Good TV, but just not worth $900.

Overall
- Real 4k (not RGBW like LG 6xxx series)
- 8 bit color depth with dithering
- No wide color gamut
- Not real HDR, uses HDR mimic software
- 60Hz
- Edge lit with no local dimming
- Suffers from PWM flickering
- Average blur and response time, just ok for sports
- Decent amount of judder when watching movies
- Low input lag, good for gaming
- Miserable interface, Tizen OS is by far the worst you can get and may give you cancer it is so bad

and here we go again from the expert....wave
That deal you got on the KS8500 was limited at best...where as this one is widely available

In regard to this Tv vs the Hisesne
Do you own the Hisense?

I do
I would say depending on what you were doing one might prefer this TV

If the 65" Hisesne H8C performs like the smaller models
Minus (vs this Samsung)
Worst viewing angles you have ever seen..so you need to watch it head on only
Has issues with flesh tones and the picture processing has issues
Needs to be brighter
Poor/slow smart interface

On the plus side
True( ish) HDR performance
Local dimming...however large zones and its performance is not the best

That is not correct. HDR is only supported on HDMI 1 and it has to be enabled in the Samsung TV menu. By default it is not enabled.

I bought a 60" KU6300 last week at Target for $599.99 - 10% Cartwheel - 5% Red Card discount. Gave it to a friend for his birthday. Hooked it up Saturday, watched the Super Bowl on it yesterday. I'm not a videophile, but I think it looks awesome for the money. That said, to get a 60" KU 6300 for just a bit over $500 net of discounts, makes this 65" seem kind of pricey at $899.99 a week later.

I guess if you consider it being available for nearly 2 months and purchased by thousands of people as "limited". WTF is up with your formatting? Please go back to school and learn basic formatting.
Like I said before

You dont have proof of any "thousands" of them being purchased..links?

Nor do you have a basis for comparing the TV in this thread to the Hisense

frankly..if I did watch quite a bit of HDR material
I would buy the Samsung if it and the H8C were the same price for the same size

I've seen deals before on TV's with very similar specs, and for a lower price. I'm not sold on this.

I have this TV, and I wouldn't buy it for the HDR. Once my Xbox One S was hooked up, it told me it doesn't support HDR. I have no experience with the Hisense, but HDR on this is nonexistent.

I bought the LG 55UH6030 because Target was out of stock of the Samsung UN55KU6290. I'm still unsure of the TV and still debating if I should return it for the Samsung...

Lol right?

By the way the supposed 1000s that got that EPP deal did not. TV's never shipped, most people who had a TV shipped got it recalled yo Samsung at the shipper level, most that didn't ship are stuck in limbo with "order awaiting shipment", lots of people with no TV and a credit card charge and on and on. Ask me how I know.
