I recently bought a Sony alpha camera and I am getting to know the lenses better. A fast 50 mm prime is recommended by everybody but did not want to spend ~400$ on it.
Came across this:
Neewer 35mm f/1.7 Manual Focus Prime Fixed Lens for SONY E-Mount Digital Cameras at Rakuten [rakuten.com]
Has pretty good reviews on amazon [amazon.com]
. 4.6 rating.
This lens is comparable to Sony SEL35F18 [amazon.com]
which is generally 400$ but please keep in mind
This is a completely MANUAL lens. NO AUTOFOCUS
. Aperture needs to be set manually as well. NO OSS
A nice review on youtube [youtube.com]
comparing this Neewer with Sony.
Should be good for somebody learning photography without breaking the bank.
Does have some lens distortion which can be corrected by Sony E-mount 20mm profile in Light Room under lens profile corrections.
