Maytag site [maytag.com] says it's discontinued. Looks like a solid deal on a nice washer.

In for the pair. Came to $1,127.97 for me including the required parts (hoses, dryer duct), haul away and sales tax.

Saw one review about the washer boot getting moldy after 15 months. Kind of a pain to replace these things (we're on #3 on our current GE front-load) but worth a shot at this price.

People say affresh works. My old one became moldy. I was cleaning it with paper towels and it eventually died. Have the new one and using affresh but too soon to tell

I've had the older style top load with the agitator in the middle for over a decade. It works well and I have no complaints. I am wondering, do I need to or should I upgrade to HE? My water bill isn't high and the gallons used portion of the bill isn't where most of the charges are anyway. They are against the deliver of the water so to speak. Besides saving water , are there any other advantages to the current gen washer technology ?

I have an HE maytag, I like it but I loved my old maytag/ kenmore with the agitator. the non HE cleans faster and better due to the agitator plus parts are cheap and plentiful. my next one will probably be a speed queen though
