Posting from my phone, so please pardon any irregularities in the format. MicroCenter has this TV on sale for $599, but unfortunately in-store only, so appeal is probably going to be limited. I couldn't find much on this TV with the exception of Best Buy, which appears to carry the same model number (possible price-match?) for $799. Out of 27 reviews, looks like around 4 stars. I dont recall seeing any 4K TVs in this size class for a price this low so thought I would post it.

While I can't speak personally for the brand, my inlaws bought a 42" Westinghouse a few years ago and it is still chugging along. No HDR on this model it looks like, and MicroCenter's own listing offers conflicting info on refresh rate, 60 vs 120hz, but the main description says 120hz, so who knows for certain...might go check one out myself. :-/

Pretty bad reviews at Best Buy, apparently the TV tends to fail and start shutting itself off. With a TV this big it'd be such a hassle to deal with repairs.

We bought 2 Westinghouse TV's at work a couple of years ago for the break room and after about 2 years they both had an issue with the right side became a lot dimmer than the left. We replaced them with LG's, I took them home, and figured out that the solders failed on the board that controlled the backlight on that side. Some time with a heat gun to reflow the solders should fix the issue (hair dryer only fixed it temporarily) but I'm kind of over them at this point.

I would advise against Westinghouses because they're known to have failures like these, hence the bad reviews. They tend not to last very long.

Personally I wouldn't go with a Westinghouse unless perhaps it was for a second room and I got it dirt cheap and even than I might not. Besides for $600 there's better comparable tv's.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

I usually never chime in on brand quality because there is some good and bad. But I have never heard of a good quality tv from Westinghouse.

For a cheap basement TV (kids video games and occassional movie), the Westinghouse or this Haier [hhgregg.com]?

I know a lot of folks who are looking for something this size around that magic price point. I'd give it another year before it truly becomes worth for this price.

The Roku built in was a big selling feature for me as I'm not a big fan of the Roku HDMI sticks. It is really convenient having it all in one place and controlled by my one Logitech remote.

Both of these.... I've never even had one, but the comments and reviews alone I've read throughout the years are enough unless it's absolutely too good of a deal to pass up.

One of the biggest tail tail sign was someone talked about at target the Westinghouse tvs are almost never on. and if so usually always have issues.

Funny after i read this ive always notices them off.
