Same as before but cheaper...
With R+ gone now, I'll need more data in my car. This will be 200MB (+ 500MB for friends) so 700MB each month.

Better price on this than before by $10

Warnings about FP will show up in WiKi so if you have never used FP before, wait and read up on the company...

How do I get FP friends.

Not 4G model. Routes through Europe with high ping times.

This is the same price it's been for a couple of months. But that's fine.

I would rather have the LTE SIM with this assuming it will support AT&T LTE bands. Others have reported problems using this with the LTE SIM. Has that been addressed? Will it work with the LTE SIM?

Mine works great with the LTE SIM. You just have to go into the hotspot settings and switch the APN to fp.com.attz

.
It IS an LTE model. The sim included does not do LTE though. You can easily replace the sim with the LTE sim and there you go.
There is an issue with the LTE sim taking some time to connect though, but it hasn't been a huge problem for me. Just have to turn the hotspot on 10-15 minutes before I plan to leave the house.

I've done that but that didn't resolve the problem. I sent a PM to the FreedomPop rep, but he never responded.

If it fails early on, you can get FP to send you a new one. Otherwise, just buy one on ebay. I've not had any battery trouble on this model though and I've had it about a year.

Is this thing unlocked? Meaning can I run it to a foreign country not supported by FP and use a local SIM card?

FP hasn't added any supported countries since this thing was first released more than a year ago.

if you don't care for or have need for global roaming, get one of the other refurb mobile hotspot units with 500MB/mo domestic data

Do you have to change other settings? I tried changing the apn but it constantly goes in and out of service.
