Will just leave this here.

Agreed. Buy a good set on eBay. I got a set of 4 Michelin Defender LTX for my F150 for under 900. Fantastic tire. Better than stock Goodyear or Pirelli.

I had horrible luck with my Defenders. Worn out in 40K on my GM minivan - even wear, kept aligned - just wore out.

In my opinion, when it comes to tires, you usually get what you pay for....
Case in point, the article by consumer reports that is linked in this thread shows that a cheap tire that costs half as much as a good tire only lasted half as long.
so, you're better off with buying the better name brand tire, since it will last twice as long and your tire-cost-per-mile is the same anyway.
I always look at it this way....
If I put crappy tires on my car, and one tire bubbles, falls apart, or causes my car to crash because it was poorly manufactured....
I ask myself, is it worth my safety, my family's safety, the safety of others, and wrecking my car for saving a few bucks on tires?
When I stop and think about all of that...
I always buy the better tire...
Ie.. Goodyear, Michelin, Pereli, Toyo, Nitto, etc...

its just not worth the risk IMO.

Have you checked to see the average tire life on your minivan?

The tires on my Sienna only last about 30k due to the weight of the vehicle.

I have these exact tires on my Audi A3. Its been a year almost 20k miles, no problems, tread looks the same as they were brand new. Im sure theres better tires, but for the price you cant go wrong. So far I love them, got all 4 mounted, balanced and wheel allignment for about $300 at mavis, a steal! Im sure a better brand would have cost double if not triple. Im all for "you get what you pay for," but in this case so far, Ive been good.
