Can this drive be yanked out or does it have soldered on parts for the interface?

Good question, I was wondering the same thing. One amazon buyer claims it is removable.

does anyone who has this drive know if it is compatible with Xbox One as an extended game drive (not just a media drive)?

Dont buy seagate products they will fail, you should spend $10 more and buy Western digital that's on FP.

I have that external HDD, opened it up and using it in a decent enclosure. That black plastic enclosure is poorly design for with little ventilation. The internal HDD will have over-heat issues in that enclosure, and will fail.

these seagates have poor shock proofing..and power surge protection..but their firecuda and barracuda version are decent..but their other drives?? meehhh.. I've been assembling personal workstation for more than 10yrs now..the only drives that often fails are these seagates..however I am using their barracuda for almost 3 yrs now..no issues.and I have a firecuda for my ps4.

Yes they are easily removable with some plastic tools. I purchased two of these the last time the VISA Checkout deal was around. Takes about 30 seconds to remove them from the enclosure to throw in a NAS, etc.
