M&T Bank, $200 Checking Account Bonus AZ, CT, DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA

In order to receive the bonus you need to make a direct deposit of at least $100 within 90 days of account opening by March 25, 2017. they usually offer $150. I checked and I didnd't see this $200 bonus posted.

To open the account online, simply visit the M&T Bank website, pick your account and make sure to enter promo code QK.

https://www.mtb.com/banking/check...g-accounts

EZChoice Checking is the best option. You can avoid the $6.95 monthly fee just by making one transaction such as a deposit, withdrawal, or debit purchase every month. Basic Checking is also an option, with a non waivable $3 monthly fee.

Closing Fee: $50 if closed within 180 days

saw it here https://dannydealguru.com/2017/02...unt-bonus/ also mentions that this bonus is churnable. so you can apply again even if you had an account.

I signed up for this last night, but there wasn't an account number on the confirmation page...any advice on how to get one? Obviously I haven't access to online banking because I cannot enroll with it until I have an acct. no. or my debit card (which is 7-10 days out). This also precludes me from doing a push from my WF account (to get the sign-up bonus) until I have the acct. no...that's what really concerns me considering the DD deadline is fast approaching.

I'm in the same situation.. I opened online a couple days ago. On the last page.. it didn't show the account number (only showed the routing number).

Do we actually need to make the ACH transfer by March 30?

I was thinking about calling the bank.. but in past experience.. a bank usually won't give you your account number over the phone.

Please let me know what you end up doing to get your account number.. either here or by PM. Thanks!

I think I'm going to send them a reply to the message they sent via email confirming the account and see what can be done. It's concerning that you haven't received one in the past couple of days.

I think the problem is because I signed up for the account past 10:30PM-EST (at the end it states that the account will be set up the following morning past that cut-off time). I imagine that you were in the same boat as me regarding the time of account set-up and given that circumstance I would strongly caution others that want to establish an account and take advantage of this deal to do so during their normal customer service hours (0800-2100 if memory serves me) and certainly not after 10:30PM.

I will let you and the rest of the folks tuning in here what I come up with via message here, that way everyone if afforded the opportunity to take advantage of the information I'm able to procure via the reply or other methods I investigate afterwards. Please do likewise if you find an amicable solution and report any problems encountered along the way.

I think the deadline is just to enroll in the promo.

I imagine that you're correct, but I want to aire on the side of caution and get it done prior to the expiry of the promo.

I am in the same situation. The confirmation page did state that a debit card would be received in 7 to 10 days. This is going to cut this short this way.

Well folks, I sent the email stating the problem and within 30min. got impatient and gave them a call. The representative (which was, surprisingly, quick to answer after no hold time) was courteous and informed me that sometimes the account is put on hold for verification purposes and may take a few days to go through. She asked for some personal information and said that mine went through and proceeded to give me the account number (and offer to give the routing number, which I didn't need) over the phone. I've already enrolled in online banking and am about ready to send them my ACH from WF to (with any luck at all) trigger the bonus. My $25 initial deposit hasn't shown up yet, but being a pull (vs. a push/ACH) I don't think that's out of the ordinary.

Long story short...a quick phone call to their CS dept. (1-866-236-1515) and your problem should be solved. Smilie

I think I didn't get the account number because I was signed in via a VPN which location is different from the area of my address. I would imagine that I will receive the account information in the mail and will just need to wait. It appears that the terms state that I need to make a deposit in 90 days but the deadline is just for opening an account with this promo.

I didn't use a VPN, but did block access to location settings whilst creating the account, so, like you, that may be the root of my issue as well. At any rate a quick call will [if my experience is any indication] painlessly solve the problem.

On the phone M+T said that the account wasn't completely opened.. that they are now requiring that I fax my SS card and some other documents, I think a utility bill. Did anyone else get asked these things? Jesus christ.. I don't really want to send my SS card through the fax.. seems a bit insecure.

I am also worried now whether the bonus code would even still apply.. because the account wasn't opened at the time that I applied. I need to manually fax documents and then somebody at M&T bank has to manually approve the account.

Do you think it's even worth it to try to get the bonus? I have no experience with this bank before. Never even heard of them until I saw this promotion posted on several sites.

It's probably the quickest bonus out of all the banks. I got mine as soon as my ACH went from pending to posted:

It's also the only bank I know of that lets you open multiple accounts with different promo codes to get multiple bonuses

I didn't get asked for anything other than a signature card, which I'm sure is standard operating procedure for any of their new accounts opened remotely (though my USAA account was opened online and I don't recall having to mail/fax one and I know that my new Regions account didn't require it).

I would either call to confirm that it will be opened with the bonus promotion code or either call it quits...Personally I wouldn't chance losing money on the exchange by assuming that it was credited.

On a different note, I tried to push (ACH) money from my WF account and it required a couple small transfers to be confirmed before allowing me to add the account. I did so on Friday morning and still haven't seen any account activity in the new M&T account. It's been awhile since I last sent funds via ACH so I may be misremembering, but I don't recall it taking this long to hit the account in the past...should I be alarmed or is this typical for a transfer right before the weekend?

Wells Fargo only does trial deposits/ACH on business days. So if you did it Friday, they should post Monday.

My trial deposits for both my accounts so far posted one business day after I set them up.
