It is once per lifetime.
You can, but I would not risk it. Usually the name on the card has to match the name on the rewards account.
After the $5k spend you can transfer the 40k points into 120k Marriott points.
Yes.
Chase does not suck, they have probably the best portfolio of cards.
If this is what you think you're doing it wrong.
The ONLY way to earn SPG points is from hotel stays or spending on their credit card. Points are extremely valuable for hotels and the 25% bonus when transferring points to airline partners.
Referral links are not allowed on SDs.
Sure. Amex used to limit to 4 credit cards and 4 charge cards, but they have recently lifted the limit to 5 credit cards, and I'm unsure if it's now 5 or still 4 charge cards.
I had luck last year getting the match by calling, but many people were not so lucky. A supervisor has to do it.
Totally worth it, this is the highest point bonus it has ever been. CC spend and hotel stays are the only way to earn SPG points so they're very valuable.

They raised it to 5 credit cards recently.

You are soooooo right. I mean, I plan on spending 5K anyways between Gas, Groceries and Bills and stuff. I should just use my debit card instead of earning $945.00 worth of reward points, I am so glad I read your post.

You're special aren't you?

Yes, 35K is max bonus offered in past. Wink and AMEX offers are once in lifetime deal - so you can't re-apply for same card after few years and get bonus.

Yeah this offer is only once per year, I signed up last year around this time. Best card I've had so far, roughly 2.2 cents per dollar versus 0.7-1.5 cents per dollar most other airline and hotel cards offer.

spg has superb hotels in there lineup. they recently added all the marriot properties too but I have not utilized them yet.
the spg point system is one of the most valuable ones out there.
a word about spg gold status - has gotten me upgrades 8 out of ten times.
