Sony Alpha a7R II Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only) $2499 - YMMV

MassDrop is offering a7R II for $2499. For those unfamiliar, they do bulk purchases so they can get lower price meaning they usually have to hit a certain minimum.

I've only bought a backpack on there before and it is indeed cheaper, however a couple of things to be aware of. The delivery takes awhile because you have to wait for the end date and returns are only allowed if it doesn't work or something to that effect. Please look close before you buy YMMV big time.

Even at this lower price, I'm curious how many hobbyist photographers are willing to shell out this much money for a camera body? I guess if you got money to burn more power to you, but this really seems like overkill for non-pros, or people who aren't making money with their camera.

I can't see it taking photos that much better than my Nikon d3400 with a Nikon prime lense that warrants 6x the cost.

Belive me this is muuuch better camera than D3400.
Its FF 44.2 MP BSI, which means better resolution, subject seperation, around 1.5 stops less noise, better DR, colors, etc
Has IBIS
is smaller than DSLR
Has bigger and brighter evf
Focusing is better than D3400
Etc

I don't know too much about the seller malibucameras, but they seem to be selling body only for 2279. I need to take a look at how these price drops compare to that 480 credit trade in from BH and Focus

Adorama and B&H are authorized Sony dealers. I would recommend buying from them especially with the $480 trade-in from Sony. I brought my A7R2 thru Adorama on the trade in program. It's an awesome camera. The Nikon D3400 is not even in the same league. Coming from a Canon 6D and 70D, this camera can be frustrating to use but the IQ of the FF 42MP is jaw dropping with the Zeiss 55mm f1.8

Also have this camera. got it from B&H Open Box sale. Awesome camera! just remember that price doesn't include a lens lol. I have purchased several lens adapters on amazon for under $20 which allows me to use some old canon film glass on this body which I think is really cool.

Check out my IG for pic examples! -> JLaZZ447

one thing Sony did with their later models was to have it compatible with other competitor lenses like Nikon. Just gotta be a full frame lens. saves the trouble of buying them all over again
