Lowe's has DEWALT 10-in 15-Amp Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw on sale for $349. This is a good deal to me, and it's about 30% off MSRP.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-1...aw/1179355

If you have a $50 off $250 coupon, or use Lowe's gift card, it will be slicker!

Update: Attached my final price from order confirmation email. Shipping is free.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

If you want to have a shadow line for the DW717 like the DWS780 has you can add this [industrialtoolandsupply.com] work light kit.

Lowe's management team is doing shit again. The $50 off $250 coupon mailed to my home only takes off $25. I had to buy a coupon from ebay!

you sure about that light kit? they're not available anymore. That site has no picture either so I would be very cautious. lots of counterfeit Chinese kits out there too.

what is up with DeWalt, why would they discontinue an item like the light kit? Now it's going for a $100 on eBay. Thanks DeWalt.

Is the 12 inch worth the extra $20? Or is this 12 inch not have enough the same bells and whistles? Reviews are better on the 10 inch.

I bought the light kit from that site two months ago and it fits the saw perfectly. The parts for this light kit actually say DWS7085 on them. It's just listed under this part number because it's a replacement part [toolsandpartsdirect.co.uk] for the DW717XPS that's only sold overseas.

What't the biggest advantage of going with this dewalt vs the 10" slider for kobalt? (link [lowes.com]).

I like the feature of the Kobalt that it has the "wings" that can slide out from the side with the wood stop latch that can flip up or down for repeated cuts. Also the Kobalt seems to be 4,800 RPM vs the 4,000 RPM of the dewalt. Is the extra $100+ just for the dual bevel and "dewalt" name brand?

Yes, definitely worth it. First, there's the increased cutting capacity,, it gives you a max 16" cross cut capacity. The blades will last longer (more teeth on a 12") and less heat per cut with more teeth engaged. You'll be able to do more cuts straight down without engaging the slide mechanism.

The only downside is the larger footprint, if you can accommodate that in your shop, and you're not going to be transporting the saw very often, then go for it.
