It uses a 3rd radio dedicated for communication between the base unit and the satellite. It also has mesh capabilities so it intelligently handles mobile devices and bandwidth.

This isn't for everyone. Target audience would be people with large homes and a large amount of concurrent wifi usage.

I have a 3000 sq. ft. home and can often have 4-5 devices streaming from the internet at the same time.

Went from my old setup with a nice AC router and a range extender to the Orbi, and the difference is night and day regarding slowdowns/dropped wifi/dead spots.

Most mesh systems utilize the very same channel/bandwidth used for your actual internet usage, which crowds the channel, lowering performance. Orbi has a dedicated channel to handle the mesh connectivity portion.

So did I. Any chance for a price adjustment with Best Buy? I just paid $379 for it last week.

Return and rebuy, or see if your credit card offers price protection (many do).

I have a luma system, eero and Orbi. Orbi is head and shoulders above the others.

This is a great deal if you have the need and desire a mesh solution.

I have it too. I went from an ASUS AC87U to and Orbi and my signal is excellent anywhere in my home and outside of the home is has a good range. The setup is easier than setting up a router a new router. I got it Like New from Amazon Warehouse deals though for about the same price after coupon.

I would've love to have these great deal but no Ethernet backhaul is the killer for me. I currently use the luma 3 set with backhaul and its freaking fabulous. I tired the Luma's without it and speeds were not so great. So if you have cat 5e or 6 in your home get a system that has Ethernet backhaul you won't regret it.

I read they are actually trying to work on an update for the ethernet backhaul. The hardware is already there. They just need to utilize it. It has more ethernet ports than most of the other mesh systems.
