If you spend 6k on groceries you shouldn't have this card anyway- you should have either the Blue Cash Preferred (which gives you -6- percent cash back at grocery stores for a $95 annual fee)

$6000 times 3% is $180 in rewards

$6000 times 6% is $360. Even minus the $95 you're still $85 ahead of this card.

Other option (better option if you travel) would be the Amex Everyday Preferred also $95 AF- where you can earn 4.5x MR on grocery spend up to 6k... most folks who travel value MR points around 1.6-1.8 cents a point, so that's effectively 7.2-8.1% cash back equivalent

If you DO travel but don't spend a ton on groceries there's also the regular everyday card (no AF)... where you can get 2.4x MR on groceries, so 3.84-4.32% cash back equivalent at an MR value of 1.6-1.8 cents.
I just signed up for this card last week but with $250 cashback on $1k spend. Found it on the AE website. So theres an alternative in case anyone is interested.
I liked the up to 450 back with amazon Smilie

no, only 1% at WM and Target which they consider discount stores.

the 3% at grocery stores is ONLY up to $6000 purchase per calendar year, beyond that amount you earn only 1%.

Is that right? Walmart is coded as a grocery store? That's awesome...BCP card gives 6% back there then!

Would you happen to know if Target is coded as groceries?

you're lucky, I called to clarify this info with amex since my past statement earned only 1% for a WM supercenter purchase and rep said their list of qualified grocery stores remain the same. On a positive note, I earn 3% from WM neighborhood markets.

I have been using this card for more 13+ years, I believe it's only 1% cashbacks at super Walmarts.

I've had it only 4 years that's why it made me check again with amex if there are changes to their list of supermarkets. still 1% for WMsupercenters as of today. The OP may have been lucky, his supercenter is categorized differently. But at least they categorize WM Neighborhood Market as supermarket.

Beware, Amex does not recognize my local Foodtown as a supermarket. Not sure why, as it is a major supermarket chain in my area.
