You want to unlock your phone huh? See the FCC information here! [fcc.gov]

Will my prepaid phone be unlocked on request?

Yes, participating providers have agreed to unlock prepaid devices within one year of initial activation, consistent with reasonable time, payment or usage requirements.

How to unlock this phone:
1. Do not turn the phone on, don't even open the box.
2. Go to this web site: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/
3. Check I have read and agree to the eligibility requirements to unlock my device.
4. This is super important, check Non-AT&T Mobility Customer. Do this by selecting "No" where it asks "Are you an AT&T wireless customer?"
5. Fill out the form, including the IMEI number which is located on the Box
6. Submit
7. You will be sent an email with a link to confirm
8. Open your email and confirm
9. It may take up to 2 weeks(10 business days) to get the unlock code so be patient.
10. Open up the box, put in your SIM from your Carrier and turn it on.
11. You will be prompted for the unlock code
12. Put it in and continue.

Attention to those who want to use this on T-Mobile.

It most likely lacks band 12 support which will lead to a sub par experience on T-Mobile with alot of areas showing 3G HSPA or HSPA+.

Instructions on debloating to greatly improve speed and battery life:

Optional, update to the latest update, phone stock is b130, there is b140 and b150 updates available. You should have your phone charged 100%, usb cord still plugged in and active AT&T SIM installed as you are doing this. Go to phone settings, scroll down to "AT&T software update", then you can update from there. This step is optional, if you want to be on the latest update.

Google play store comes pre installed. Download Nova Launcher from the play store and install it. You can customize the launcher to your liking later. Set it as the default launcher then you won't have to worry about the mediocre Huawei launcher that comes installed on the phone. It makes the phone laggy by itself.

Now you are all set to disable the bloat. Go into phone settings, look for the "App" tab, select it, all the apps will be listed there. Click on each app to force close the process and disable it. A few of them will be uninstalled rather than disabled.

A visual guide can be seen here:

http://www.howardforums.com/showt...st16770536

How to set data usage cycle date in EMUI:
Huawei has hidden data cycle date from Data Traffic Management in the Settings menu so you need another app if you want to change the data cycle date.
- First of all you should install Activity Launcher from Play Store.
- After launching the app, tap on "Recent Activities" (in the header) and choose All activities.
- Wait a bit while the app loads some data and scroll down on the appeared list to Settings and tap on it.
- Search for Data usage and "click" on the cycle date above the chart to change it.
- Set the new turning date and it's all.
- Now you can quit the app, the new data usage cycle has been set.
- You can uninstall the app if you wouldn't like to have it..

List of apps to disable/uninstall:

Games
Games assistant/manager
Amazon
Amazon kindle
AT&T family map
AT&T locker
AT&T protect plus
AT&T remote support
AT&T smart wifi
com.ampsvc.android
com.facebook.appmanager (optional)
facebook (optional)
Devicehelp
Directtv
Docs
Drive
Drivemode
Email (I use gmail, optional)
Firefox (optional, I use Chrome)
Google play books
Google play games
Google play movies and tv
Google play music
Google play newsstand
Google +
Hangouts
Huawei backup
Huawei home (unable to disable but it won't run because you are using Nova)
Lookout
Maps
my At&t
Notepad
Setup & transfer
Sheets
Slides
Smart limits
Talkback
Uber
Visual voicemail
YP

All the above apps are safe to disable. There are a few more you can disable/freeze using Titanium Backup but I will leave this guide basic so everyone can do it easily. The above will get rid of most of it. Freezing apps through Titanium is for more advanced users. The above will prevent the bloat from running at all times. If you need an app then obviously don't disable it. Reboot the phone and you should be all set. Guaranteed the phone will be much faster and battery friendly.

I have been a victim of that as well. Unable to unlock my iPhone. It keeps saying IMEI not recognized. I am putting in the right IMEI number FYI.

Has anyone lately unlocked ATT go phone successfully in their webiste?

This is going front page quick. But, if it cannot be unlocked that will be a problem for many. I have a ZTE Zmax2 which has been a pretty good phone but want something a little bigger. Anyone tell what the resolution is on this though? Not listed even on Amazon.
